Story of a father/husband on an abandoned spaceship. Or is it abandoned? Screaming in the hull echoes...
Graphic style is unsettling and sounds are weird - in a good way. Story reveals one disturbing part on another. The whole is really atmospheric and on point.
As it's a point and click adventure from a past time there is some pixel hunting present and it's not clear what to do next from time to time. Not exactly accessible for a young gamers.
I enjoyed it a lot and will give Bone totem a try.
Really enjoyed this one. The ambience and sound design are top tier and extremely well done. the only downside i would say is there is no actualy enemy encounters unless you count machines, you will see hints and hear various monstrosities in the distance but the game has no combat or stealth system which while not really a big negative all in all i do wish there was more instances of having to hide or sneak around these things.
anyway just an overall enjoyable experience and look forward to more titles from the developer!
It is a Scifi story. you play it and it fells like reading a book. a good book. I enjoyed it, Felt a bit like Aliens. A bit of Doom 3, Ending hit me a bit hard. Loved it.
Amazing story and Lore, can't wait to see the rest of this universe. I'm not used to point and click games but this one caught my attention and i coudn't stop thinking that it was some kindo hidden gem, I was right.
The atmosphere is really well done, the setting is grim as f**k and you just want to keep going to see more of the ship.
Cool puzzles with minor pixel hunting, that I wouln't call bad.
Statis is a great game that combines the dread of deep space horror and isolation with an engaging story about a father trying to find his family and discovering one terrible thing after another.
The game feels like a nod/tribute to older games of the same genre, such as Sanitarium (another isometric point and click classic), where the more you study the environment around you, the more you learn about the world which feels rewarding. The aesthetic of the game feels very Dead Space / Alien inspired, and the coldness of the deep space vessel and its interior frames perfectly the horrific events that have transpired there prior to your arrival.
While the game isn't jumpscare-scary (although there are a couple here and there), and the isometric perspective definitely plays a role in this, the atmosphere is what makes the game unnerving and provides a sense of uneasiness throughout the whole playthrough.
As a horror and sci-fi fan as well as an point and click fan, this falls into one of my favorite categories of games that I can play to enjoy the story, artwork and atmosphere, while feeling uncomfortable and uneasy but not stressed out due to frustrating gameplay.
I can highly recommend Stasis!
