Star Wolves

This game is impossible to describe, it's like a Tactical Strategy Space Simulator Role Playing Game with progression trees & a combat system that allows you to pause and plan your moves. If that sounds interesting to you, it works well on Windows 8.

Can't vouch for the gameplay as i cannot get the game to play properly. On windows 7 I get like 3-5 FPS, seems others have had the problem but no real solution.

The game is quite interesting and enjoyable (Safe for the poor writing and voice over but I've seen worse, much worse). The problem is that, on the normal difficulty level, the game becomes impossible once you meet the aliens. It may be a bug but the aliens will keep spawning until your mother ship is destroyed. I managed to get through 5 waves of four ships attacking just to see another fifteen ships spawning along with 16 pirate ships. Even with the best ships, weapons and defense system it's impossible to win in such conditions. The interface is also very buggy with some commands not working until you click on them four times. Finally many of your wingmates just fly away not responding to commands and until they get destroyed. Three stars is generous for a game that can't be won on normal difficulty level.

Good game I highly recommend it. Liked it so much I play it again every once and a while.

Good storyline, interesting characters. I wished, this would never end.
