Fantastic Star-Wars-Flavored FPS!

Never got to play this on XBOX, so I bought it as soon as I saw it was on GOG. It looks great and plays very nicely. Squad-based first person shooter; you blast baddies and droids and give your team instructions to cover for you and handle other small tasks. Super cool. The lazy review is: Star Wars in a Halo skin. I don't think there's another title in the Star Wars video game catalog that is more deserving of greater mainsteram appeal and/or a sequel. :) Go ahead and get it!

One of the Best Star Wars games ever.

I have routinely come back every couple years since 2005 to play this masterpiece. The GOG version is everything a person could need with this game, with the lack of any multiplayer support outside of a few mod servers that I am not even certain are functioning any longer, all most of us have is the singleplayer. And in that, what more needs to be said. Innovative for the time and amazing even now for its polish and quality. Truly a good old game.

Something different

Star Wars: Republic Commando is something different to many of the other Star Wars games out there. Instead of playing as a Jedi hero, you command a squad of troopers on missions that take place during the Clone Wars. As such, you need to think tactically about each situation that you encounter, ordering your squad into position and attacking when the moment is right.
