Another Great Star Wars Game

I was excited to see this game come out on GOG. Star Wars Episode I: Racer was my first video game, and it's nice to enjoy it at a more modern framerate and resolution. The game itself is an excellent piece of Star Wars media. John Williams's score is on full display here, and combined with the top notch sound design, it creates a wonderful sense of immersion in the races you play. The game is not particularly difficult, and you will likely get first place in most races on your first try. However, the courses are well designed and will keep you coming back to play them again, if only to beat your own records. There is also a wide variety of racers that allow you to tailor your driving to the course. This is a quality game, and is well worth the money.

Better than you remember

It turns out that all the original release needed was to be played in a much higher screen resolution and framerate than was possible at the time. Coming back to it now, I'm having a lot more fun than I expected, and the racing feels much more satisfying now that I can actually see what is going on! Works fine with an xbox controller (enable it through the in-game options) and supports modern display resolutions (there's a separate configuration program for that).

Best racing game ever

Best racing game ever. o be honest, I have not played many racing games, but this one is so much fun. I've played it on WIndows 98 back in a days and I was so sorry when it was lacking support for later Windows editions. Thank you for making it work on Windows 10.

A one-of-a-kind racing game

Even to this day, this game's sense of speed is nearly unparalleled, and the level of control and control options you have makes it certain there's a solution to nearly any given problem once you've come to grips with the game. Maps very well to a 360 pad, too. I read about how hard this title was to get working on a modern PC, so I played the Dreamcast version for some time. GOG provides a hassle-free, ready to go setup for this with minimal issues. The most glaring issue I noticed was that there seems to be the occasional polygon mis-sort on the pods, but I only ever noticed it in the pre-race camera pan. Even for those who simply don't care for Star Wars as a franchise, this takes a premise from Episode I and expands it into a full game quite well. My only complaint is the game seems much easier than I remember?
