What a Special Experience

Never in my entire life did I think Star Trek could fit into the old school FPS genre. Oh how wrong I was. I've played almost 10 hours of the campaign and without giving too much away the premise is centered around the Voyager crew rather than other crews that may have been popular during that time. The only other Star Trek game I have played was Star Trek Online and although I am more of a fan of TNG and the TNG movies, this game has made me want to watch Voyager and see what elements they took from the show and used in this game, other than the characters. What surprised me about this is Raven software's pacing of the campaign and the various interactions you can have aboard the Voyager between missions. This adds in new unknown characters that are apart of a separate branch of the security team called the hazard team, as apposed to the "Elite Force". At times I felt a little bit overpowered but in a good way. And Holy crap the weapons are a gift to behold but, I won't spoil any of that for you. This game is not super difficult and its best play with a keyboard and mouse. The enemy types you will come across will be quite fantastic in its own rite. The environments also look great for a game that 20+ years ago at least in my opinion, still hold up. I never played this when it originally came out and that saddened me because on was on the good ol' PlayStation 2 but, I've heard its somewhat janky. But. Thank God for GOG that we are able to play it without the hard work of sourcing it from Ebay or other place where of you do you might overpay for the classics you really want. I can definitely say without a doubt this one of the best games I'll play ever. I think both this game and its sequel are gems that you will be extremely satisfied to play if you are a big fan of Star Trek or sci-fi shooters in general.

As good as good old games get

Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force is fluent combat, and precise movement, something that Elite Force 2 lacks. The Level design is quite linear and straight forward and only indoors but more interesting than in Elite Force 2, too. The story is also quite good and support NPC are better developed. Elite Force allows you to choose to play as man or women, while Elite Force 2 gives you no choice. While sound mix is really odd, voice overs and background noise are really badly (inter)mixed - way too quiet - this is about the only flaw this game has, This is a prime example of how good a good old game can still be these days.

One of the Best ST Games Ever Made

I still own the physical copy that I bought in 2001 at EB Games. Finally played it through to completion in 2021. Feels like you are playing through a multi-episode arc of ST:Voyager. They don't make Star Trek games like this anymore, but I wish they would.

It's held up over the decades

This is my favorite Star Trek game although I hadn't played it in over twenty years. I can't believe how easy it was to install and play a game this old. It's really held up.

Perfect Birthday Present

My all-time favorite Star Trek game and in my top 5 of FPS. Really, really fun game. Multiplayer was crazy fun back in the day as well. Plus it finally comes out on my birthday which also happens to be the "birth" of Trek. Huzzah! =EFR=Jackass
