Star Trek™: Starfleet Command Gold Edition

I liked the game a lot in the past. Compatibility is poor. It frequently crashes on 800x600. Better resolutions are completely unsuable.

It's a great game buttttt it needs to be compatible with Windows 8.1 64 bit. It just crashes all the time

This great game does not function under Windows 10. Do not try! It begins very good, but after a short while, it breaks and nothing can help. I hope, an update or new version of the game will follow.

SFC Gold is still the closest thing ever made to a faithful computer adaptation of the original Starfleet Battles ruleset. The feeling here is of massive ships maneuvering to find the smallest opening, slugging it out for hours on end. SFB was based around pre-carrier naval combat; Starfleet Command faithfully captures that, especially if you slow the game down to speed 2 or 3, the way it's meant to be played, (the 4+ speed settings are there for impatient kiddies. Don't be an impatient kiddie). The game plays well even today; ten minutes into my first skirmish and I was hooked all over again. Thank you for bringing this to GoG. I'll buy the others too, as soon as you can get them on here. Well, maybe not SFC3... that was dumbed down a bit too much for my taste. Definitely SFC2 and Orion Pirates, though. Oh, and it runs fine for me on Win7 Pro 64 bit.

GOG has done an excellent job! This game has worked perfectly on my windows 10 computer. There is even a file called "sfbspc13" which controls all aspects of all ships. I have made numerous modifications of this file with a simple text editor and the game still works perfectly! Not one time has it froze, skipped or crashed. It loads without error as well. It has been a real pleasure to play it without any problems. Thank you GOG!
