Star Trek™: Armada

I played waaaay too much Star Trek Armada back in the day, and just firing it up again brings me back to a lot of teenage LAN parties. Just as I remembered it. As I'm writing this it's just been released so compatibility is a bit iffy, but I got it working by changing the DirectX settings to: Resolution: "set by application" Presentation: "Windowed" YMMV judging by the other reviews, but hopefully it will get refined with patches. I'd prefer full screen, but a 1600x1200 window on my monitor is bigger in both resolution and physical size than I played on back in the day, so I can't complain!

Not sure about all the reviews stating the game does not work at all. I am only 8 hours in but so far have had 0 issues launching the game nor completeing campaigns. I have not had to do any compatablitiy changes at all, just installed and launched and it worked. I have Windows 10 and an Nvidia graphics card.

Played the campaigns about 20+h. There are 4 campaigns each having 4 missions and after, 4 aditional missions appear :)) Some hit and miss. I rly liked it, but I wanted moooore :)) More missions, more factions... more maps... Dev. bring a expansion patch !!! :))) :(( :))) It is pretty dated, more simplistic compared to Armada 2, but is rly enjoyable. The story was... ok, but I rly don't like the time travel nonsense :)) Did not try the multiplayer yet... hopefully works... LAN only :( we'll see If you have problems... game displayed in a cut box :)) use the amazing dxcfg.exe in your installed folder and check disable the aspect ratio correction (game will fully display on screen ) or use it from galaxy... is in additional executables :) /and other tweaking options :) I purchased this title for Christmas for 7.49 EUR at a dissapointing discount :)) But at least this, GOG deserves from me :) worth it. But having a more limited budget :)) I expect the next title to be like 90% discount :)) for me :)) no time limit :)) Is pretty nice, get it if you want, on a good discount :) And GOG pls. bring moore abandonware back :) and consider releasing official hardcopy, booklet in case with the game installer on a storage medium CD/DVD, sd card..SSD :)) whatever, even on demand... would love to display some of them :))

My first reaction was slight disappointment. I only say that as Command & Conquer (another game I grew up loving) was recently remastered with new graphics and I was under the impression that this "release" was also going to have updated gameplay. However, I am still VERY happy to be able to play this game again. So much fun and so many memories!

22 years ago RTS and Star Trek fans rejoiced when this game hit store shelves. It was grand adventure and still is! It's aged very well and plays in HD resolution modes! So, if you're a fan of RTS and Star Trek fan, you will have good fun with this game!
