Star Control I & II

Bought this for the soundtrack. I was hoping is would have the PC intro music. Instead it has one with some voiceover which I assume was for the 3d0 version. Disappointed. It is still one of the best games ever made.

For todays awesome no, megaawesome pro, ultra, premium, deluxe 3K, no dlc edition gamers, Mass Effect is not, repeat is not the actual original. One of the games the Mass Effect series steals alot is this masterpiece series. There are other titles, but I will leave that to others, the truth will prevail.

2 is definitely the best of the series, and one of the greatest games of all time! It's so cool how you start off in our own solar system. Get ready to explore many star systems, based on actual star systems in our galaxies, in a brilliant story line with a few plot twists, plenty of humor, and great challenge. The combat can be difficult. You can either practice it for a while in combat mode (separate from the story line game) until you're good at it, or you can take the easy way and use "cyborg" in the game options. Star Control 3 made a few improvements, but also had a lot of short falls! 2 is definitely the best overall.

One of the very first computer games I played (along with Warcraft), the mystery, humor, exploration and wonderful story kept my attention. Of course, the graphics are much dated, but the wonderful and fun story remain. Those who like games with a great plot should definitely give this game a look. They won't regret it.

Star Con 2 is one of those games that is more than the sum of its parts. It has a sense of grandeur not found in games these days.
