Chornobyl Exclusion Zone has changed dramatically after the second massive explosion in the year 2006. Violent mutants, deadly anomalies, and warring factions have made the Zone a very tough place to survive. Nevertheless, artifacts of unbelievable value attracted many people called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, who entered the Zone for their own risk, striving to make a fortune out of it or even to find the Truth concealed in the Heart of Chornobyl.
Take over a role of the lone stalker and explore photorealistic seamless open world in a 64-km² radioactive zone with a variety of environments that reveal post-apocalyptic atmosphere from different angles. Make your way through the Zone to define your destiny as you choose your paths within highly branching epic story.
Meet members of different factions deciding who of them worth your friendship and who deserve a bullet. Engage intense gunfights with a variety of enemies that follow different tactics trying to outsmart you. Choose your preferable firearms from 30 types of weapons with numerous modifications that allow creating hundreds of distinctive lethal combinations.
Prepare to encounter horrifying mutated creatures that will try to slaughter you following different behaviour model. Each mutant may appear in different subtypes which makes their behaviour less predictible. Truly extreme danger represent regions with lairs with numerous mutants hunting in large groups.
The most valuable artifacts and secrets of the Zone are hidden in the most dangerous places. Compling shaders every time.....
Having to do this for like 10 minutes every time you open the game is a little absurd.

Wait for patches and sale.
I played the Xbox Game Pass version. While the game offers a fun experience overall, it’s hard to ignore some of the issues. The AI can feel inconsistent, and there are several minor gameplay glitches or mechanics that can break immersion. Though I can tolerate the subpar performance, the game’s constant crashing is a major problem. Each time you reload, you’re forced to recompile shaders, which can take several minutes depending on your system. It’s clear the game needed more time for optimization and bug fixes, especially to address the game-breaking crashes. My recommendation: wait for a sale and a few patches before diving in.

Only for S.T.A.L.K.E.R Fanboys
I am gonna cut my review short, i got the Ward Ending (Stalker Difficulty) and did most of the quests, so i think i am able to rate the game in a fair manner. The gunplay is extremely good and the story is awesome (best STALKER game for sure), but thats where the good things end. The level design is horrific with thousands of unnecessary barriers that make you run around in circles for hours, the quest markers are useless, the loot is ridiculously bad and you are running out of ammo all of the time (so you are forced to use guns that you dont like), not to mention game breaking quest-bugs and unbalanced enemies (some are target dummies and others are unkillable supersoldiers for no reason), in its current state the game is a boring running simulator with very bad lighting (way too dark and way too many nights) for hardcore STALKER fanboys who just want to play the story no matter the cost. Unless you want to install 20 different mods and enable cheats via the UE Console you will have a very bad time with this game, so better wait for the big patches (i played on 1.0.3) and buy it on sale with a big discount.

Has potential, but not yet...
Stalker 2 has amazing potential, as someone who loves DayZ, Tarkov, and Fallout this game has a blend of all three of those games makes me excited to experiuence the world whenever I play. BUT there are SO MANY ISSUES this game needs addressed. Gameplay would be so fun, but NPCs seem to just no where you are no matter what; STEALTH IS COMPLETELY USELESS! Enemies will just appear behind you for no apparent reason, and they all have XRAY vision and can see you anywhere. And gunplay can be very frustrating, when pl;ayers get a headshot on enemies it makes an audible cue. But that sound doesnt mean you actually killed an enemy, which has led to many times where I believe I killed an enemy, and then I am getting shot by said enemy I had thought I had killed. I find myself having a lot of fun with this game, but during those times I get so disappointed/frustrated with how erratic this game is, and the bugs and optimization issues is a big issue that ruins QOL in the game. I hightly recommend waiting for patches and mods to come out to improve this game.
