No progress vs. S2 except graphics
For me the only progress made in the 13 or so years after the last entry in the series is the evolution of graphcs, but that is it. Its more of Spellforce, which is great, however there is also lots of frustration within: - characters move really slow, traversing the maps is painfully dull; this is especially true in the player run stronghold - no real fast travel; yes, there are the godstones, but you first have to get one, secondly - which in my opinion makes no sense - the stone-to-stone connection are always one to one, and you have to define them before using the system. Why not display a map when using the stone, to select a target? - most equipment is trash, and its hard to distinguish items because almost all items of one class use the same icon - no auto loot or automatic looting by pressing a button - the story is pretty boring and voice acting uninspired - on uneven terrain focus is lost on lower/farther ground and - I have many times used a skill on a wall/tree/bridge etc that was obstructing the view. Why not bind to mouse cursor to the plane that characters can walk on? I really really wanted to like the game, just as I like the first two instalments. However due to the frustrating mechanics (this especially after experiencing DoS2) and lackluster story, I have completely lost interest in the game and most probably not return to it.
