Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

Amazing game, believable city, wei a great character, game full of content and places to explore, it's not a GTA clone, it has its own personality and the combat system might look simple but if you know what to do you will have a blast, very recommended

Don't think of this game as a Chinese GTA, it is more of an open world 3D fighting game. There are guns in the game, but they are sparingly used. There are vehicles, but there are more of a point A to point B method of travel. The meat of the game is the fighting mechanics. Learn the combos and practice the timing, this is where most of your time will be spent.

Good story, charismatic characters, nice gameplay. I didn't get to play it on it's release time but I think it's never too late to enjoy a good game.

I found this and a bunch of other games from my early years of gaming. I wasn't really into GTA because it got, excessive, by time 5 came out. Being able to play this reminded me of The Matrix and the early titles that used the Batman Asylum system with a kungfu movie fighting mechanics. So far, loving the direct port, with no fluff or nonsense. Gameplay: The combat is very realistic to what the game brings. It's a street fighting game with a testosterone filled story to tell. The reaction time on the counter can be a little off, but you easily get used to it because it goes back to how you can imagine a world like this being. You can't expect ontime reactions when your surrounded by 5 guys trying to kill you with their fist. Audio: The sounds are so pleasing. The menu audio is on par with the aestethic they are going for, the transitioning between languages depending on what's being said, the ambient music while transitioning in the open world. All were very nice to hear compared to the goingg rate of standard games today with celebrity enthused music. Story: Just cracked into it and my memory is like "thoughts and prayers" to a hobo lol. I will say it's great to see the game going full grit and getting into the grime of the street life. The banter, the frienemies, and interacting with vendors the average everyday people to keep the story going. Conclusion: Great buy, worth every penny my mom spent with her Capital One Black Card with Infinite Miles and Ego gratification. I'm joking, I sold my soul like everyone else who games. It's that good XD.

As in, you're a cop, instead of (usually) a criminal. The combat is about 75% kung fu melee, and 25% gun shooty bang bang. It's an open world game set in Hong Kong where you beat the snot out of bad guys while undercover. Fun fact: This was supposed to be a True Crime game at one point. You drink from vending machines to get a temporary powerup. It's like if drinking from the vending machines in Shenmue 1 and 2 actually did something, instead of just looking cool. Have some dragon PUNCH!.... Soda.... Energy drink, whatever. The gunplay is a bit more visceral than it is in say, older GTA games. A bit more deadly, enemies die fast, you die kind of fast, stay behind cover, and you'll be goodo. You even get some bullet time when vaulting and such. Good thing they didn't put an underscore in the title, it might have sucked then.
