FIGHT THE PAST TO SAVE THE FUTURE. STOP THE SINGULARITY.
Learn the truth behind a massive cover-up of the catastrophic SINGULARITY, an event that fractured time and threatens the world as we know it. Armed with powerful, advanced weaponry and the experimental Time Manipulation Device, fight enemies from the past, the present, and abominations caught somewhere in between.
TIME IS YOUR WEAPON
- Use the TMD – Time Manipulation Device – to change the age of objects and enemies and bend time to your will.
- Age enemies to dust in seconds, manipulate objects outside the laws of gravity, and degrade objects to a withered state or renew them to their pristine form.
- Unlock upgrades to harness the TMD’s full power and expand your full arsenal of advanced weaponry.
EPIC SCI-FI ACTION THRILLER
- Heart-pounding, first person combat action that immerses you in a world where the past and present collide.
- Travel seamlessly between two eras – 1950s Russia and modern day – each rendered with stunning lighting, physics, and effects using the Unreal 3 Engine.
UNRAVEL THE CONSPIRACY
- Traverse the blur between the past and future in order to stop the mysterious SINGULARITY that threatens the world.

This is an absolutely fantastic game. People like to say "oh, it's This Game+This Game" particularly BioShock, which is totally false (This game has absolutely nothing to do with BioShock). What this game really is, is a sort of spiritual successor to Raven's previous game, Wolfenstein, another misunderstood gem that people like to blindly claim is a BioShock clone. The TMD is a lot of fun to use but in combat and puzzles. It does sort of use the TMD like Half Life 2 used the gravity gun, only better. The story is a very well done stock time loop story.
The multiplayer is terrible. The single player is fantastic.
Singularity is a fun, story based FPS game. It has elements that make it somewhat similar to Bioshock, Half Life 2, Dishonored and Metro.
Game mechanics are fun, with interesting physics based puzzles.
Gunplay is satisfying but not exceptional.
The storyline is interesting (albeit short) and can keep you interested in the game. The soviet thematic is a very exaggerated, but doesn't take too much away from the experience.
The one major critique I have for the game is that it is very linear (a-la Half Life 2). You get used to this but early on the invisible walls or sections you can't just go to (for no apparent reason) are a bit immersion breaking. I usually don't like games like this, but this one managed to keep me hooked.
The other (minor) issue is the FOV which is small compared to modern games.
I played it on Linux and it ran fine, out of the box, under Wine/Lutris.
Not exactly pretty even by the standards of yesterday and it isn't very innovative but it is fun and well worth a couple of bucks if you haven't tried it yet!
Well, like everything else - it's a matter of taste. For me, this game is somewhat mediocre. Upgrading skills and weapons is not really necessary, you could play through just fine without it. Maps do feel pretty much the same, most of the time. Not much variation and very linear as well. There are quite a few areas where you have to fight annoying little insects, which explode on impact (i personally hate small & fast enemies) and the story is told mostly by notes and voice records, which are scattered through the maps. Not very entertaining, if you ask me.
It's an OK game to buy, if it's on sale, but Raven has done better before.
