Silver, a corrupt and sinister sorcerer, rules the land of Jarrah with an iron fist. He and his henchmen have abducted the village women as part of a pact with the almighty god, Apocalypse. Now, only one man can put a stop to Silver and his minions. That man is you, David, a promising young knight whose wife is among the captured. In order to succeed you'll need to recruit allies, master your swordplay, learn the art of magic, and venture through hostile worlds teeming with Silver's corrupt followers to find 8 lost artifacts. Begin your quest, and become a hero!
Silver is the European answer to JRPGs, which were very popular at the time. With eye-candy in the form of pre-rendered 2D backgrounds, manga-inspired character design, and console-style gameplay, it introduced PC gamers to a new genre. This game is very unique on PC as there are only a few such titles on this platform, so if you feel like trying a different approach to role-playing, then this is a title for you!
Form your party from a cast of interesting and diverse characters, each with their own unique traits.
Gripping story and polished gameplay combine to make a “simple” RPG that’s still a lot of fun.
Unique combat system with real-time, fast-paced action--you assume direct control over one of the characters, and the rest of your team fights on their own.
I can´t believe you guys brought this game up to gog.com... You´re awesome!
It´s one of my alltime favorites and I´ve played it soooo many times. Altough its straight forward with no variation the replay-value is enormous I think. Thanks a lot! :)
Great gameplay, sweet graphics, nice sounds and one of the greatest control-types of all times for this kind of genre! :)
I was the same as many of you here. I received this as a birthday gift back on it's original release day and I absolutely loved the game as a teenager. Unfortunately over time I lost my game discs and as it is an old game, up until now I had no joy running the game smoothly on my Windows 7 PC.
Oh how that has changed. I've just played through the first hour of the game as it's still full of as much charm as I remember. The fantastic voice acting, interesting character design and beautiful soundtrack still stand out even today. It really is a joy to play once again and I can't thank gog.com for the game and at £3.87 GBP it was an absolute bargain.
Also included was an added bonus of the entire game soundtrack encoded at 320Kbs that's gone straight onto my iPod.
5 stars all round from me.
This game is one I have been dying to be playing on my system, but my old version bit the big one. After seeing it on here, I couldn't get it fast enough. And it is still the game I remember. The graphics, the atmosphere, the setting... everything is there. And the music... simply beautiful. After playing it I remember each path and step on how to progress through the game. And the best of all: all of the gamebreaking bugs/glitches are GONE! It plays beautifully on my system, and I really must congratulate GoG.com for releasing this game the way I remember it. If you want a good RPG-adventure with a great setting then get this game, you will not be dissappointed.
It's one of those master pieces that really set a timeline to your joyful experiences playing games. Enjoyed thoroughly in my youth, now working with windows 7 and having no bugs, it's just a delight to play it again. Wonderful sound track, beautiful dialogues and a dazzling game-play. I profusely recommend this jewel!
I can't believe 14 years have passed. This is unbelievable I have finally found it and can play again. It is the taste of my childhood. I liked this game so much. This made my day!!! Thanks!!!
