Silver, a corrupt and sinister sorcerer, rules the land of Jarrah with an iron fist. He and his henchmen have abducted the village women as part of a pact with the almighty god, Apocalypse. Now, only one man can put a stop to Silver and his minions. That man is you, David, a promising young knight whose wife is among the captured. In order to succeed you'll need to recruit allies, master your swordplay, learn the art of magic, and venture through hostile worlds teeming with Silver's corrupt followers to find 8 lost artifacts. Begin your quest, and become a hero!
Silver is the European answer to JRPGs, which were very popular at the time. With eye-candy in the form of pre-rendered 2D backgrounds, manga-inspired character design, and console-style gameplay, it introduced PC gamers to a new genre. This game is very unique on PC as there are only a few such titles on this platform, so if you feel like trying a different approach to role-playing, then this is a title for you!
Form your party from a cast of interesting and diverse characters, each with their own unique traits.
Gripping story and polished gameplay combine to make a “simple” RPG that’s still a lot of fun.
Unique combat system with real-time, fast-paced action--you assume direct control over one of the characters, and the rest of your team fights on their own.
Being mostly a console kid during my childhood, Silver was something of a gem for me. I loved the game and played it so much. For anyone wanting a really good action rpg for the PC I can't recommend Silver highly enough. Engaging storyline, fun and intuitive mechanics, memorable characters and lovely music. This game has it all.
When I first heard about GOG, Silver was one of the first games that came to mind. Now it's finally here, and it is glorious. Thank you GOG, for bringing this awesome game back to us!
I had this game on my first PC when I was a kid, and I loved every minute of it! Since then, Id tried installing it several times on my newer PC's but to no avail, despite several legendary tutorials on the subject. Finally, GOG came up with the answer id been searching for and ive been happy ever since.
Truly brilliant game, simple to play but encapsulating from beginning to end. Cannot recommend highly enough, BUY THIS GAME!!!
This was my very first action RPG back in the days and i realy enjoyed it. While the stoy is forgettable, the world design is realy good. I enjoy the combat system and while there are now games that does things better, i think this game is still fun to play. I have read som comments that some people find the game hard and unintuitive, i have never been one of those people, this was my first action rpg back when i was 12 years old and i managed to finish it and so did my friend. Althoug we were not the types to give upp on games, we somewhat figured out how to play and win in Civilization and setllers on our own so i guess that it comes down to what kind of person you are.
I remember the game from when I was younger and I remember it being an awesome RPG. And at the time, the pixely graphic looked great. Story is briliant and what I actually love most about the game, is the combat system.
"I am the Chronicler..."
This game is truly a masterpiece.
- Incredible, gripping story of EPIC proportions.
- Interesting characters.
- innovative gesture based attack system that is so intuitive, swipe your mouse from left to right to slash your enemies or thrust it forward to lunge.
LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT.
