Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri™ Planetary Pack

This is #3 on my all time Civ series games there is aspects to this civ game that I wish carried forward into the modern Civ V series (such as underwater cities as one) Great game and must play for any Civ fanatic

Haven't played SMAC yet because I've just bought it and it's still installing on my PC (might be done when I've written this), but I'm so happy I bought it today! I've played SMAC for months with over 1000 hours total, until my old XP machine broke down and it wouldn't run anymore on my Win7 machine. Good that GoG has classics like this and that they make sure they run on modern day machines - I can finally play one of my most beloved sim games again!

Based on Civilization 2 isometric engine, this game is awesome becase of: - Dedicated story; - Great map idea - special places with bonuses, "planet life", terraforming; - Unique diplomacy. Love to play this game 2-3 times a year. By far my favourite strategy game. Doesn't have the slick graphics the new games have but the gameplay is great. Well done for making this available again.

Bought this as it was said to be compatible with macOS, unfortunately it was shipped with Wine, which doesn't work well on my mac. However, the Windows version runs perfectly on Win10 under Parallels Desktop on my Mac. As for gameplay, it will still provide hours of enjoyment. I can see no reason for you not to buy this classic, if you are a nostalgic Windows user. There is also no reason why you shouldn't buy it if you are a Mac user running Windows under a virtualization platform.
