Ahoy, cursed pirate!
This is Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, an all-new stealth strategy game set during an alternate history of the Golden Age of Piracy. The Curse of Lost Souls haunts the mysterious island chain known as the Lost Caribbean, which is under the control of the terrible forces of the Inquisition. They despise all that is supernatural and use soul devouring fire to hunt cursed pirates like you!
Embark on a journey with cursed pirate Afia and seek the legendary Black Pearls to revive a cursed crew of your own. Each of your eight shipmates is a playable character with an individual personality and armed with unique supernatural powers. Launch friend or foe with Gaëlle's magical cannon, use Mr. Mercury's soul anchor to open a magic portal or dash across spacetime for split second stealth attacks with Afia's mythical sword.
Pull-off an epic heist and salvage a mysterious treasure of otherworldly power to defy the army of the Inquisition. Infiltrate their fortresses. Sneak behind enemy lines. Cleverly combine the magical skills of your crew to take out a variety of enemies with carefully considered tactics. Feel like a brilliant mastermind when your plan clicks perfectly into place!
Join The Red Marley, a ghost ship with a living soul. On deck, plan your next adventure or just hang out with your crew mates while they enjoy their un-life.
Get to know these legendary cursed pirates of the Lost Caribbean. With individual character missions find out about their backstories, learn who they are and what led them on their cursed journeys.
Go ashore a variety of exotic islands in the Lost Caribbean. From locales oozing with cursed soul magic to tropical beaches and lively pirate shanty towns: Every island is a unique hand-crafted sandbox where adventures await.
Freely select your crew members before embarking on each mission. Utilize their unique abilities to find new strategies against the forces of the Inquisition.
Plot your own path to enter and exit each island, be stealthy or more head-on in your play style and use the environment to your advantage.
It's your playground to experiment in!
The powerful time-manipulating magic of your ghost ship is yours to wield. Pause time to consider your strategic choices or queue up multiple character actions. Capture a memory of every passing moment, to instantly return to if things go south. Change your approach and tactics to discover own unique solutions to each moment in the game – in your own time!

I've been waiting for another Mimimi Studio game since I finished Desperados 3. And I am not dissapointed. This game is not perfect and has some flaws so I can't say it's the best game Mimimi ever produced... But still is literally one of best games in this very slim genre. The diversity of team with less abilities then in previous games [although all seems usefull], the core gameplay mechanic... Just all. Just buy it, its great, its worth it. I CANT WAIT TILL ANOTHER MIMIMI TITLE!
I loved Shadow Tactics, it's basically the only NON-MMO were I was invested in the characters. I actually was upset at some events in Shadow Tactics and Aiko's choice was amazing, I got a bit choked up. Shadow Tactics for me is one of the all time best games and that sets up for a lot of potential disappoint moving forward because it was an instant classic. For all the love for Desperados III is was basically a reskinned Shadow Tactics, all the same mechanics in a different setting. Not that I didn't love it, but I was no-where near invested in the characters. Aside from Shadow Tactics I rarely get that involved in the story, I prefer the strategy part, so Desperados was 5 star, but mainly because I got to run around doing the same thing as Shadow Tactics.
Shadow Gambit, in my opinion is better story-wise than Desperados. The characters are interesting and while the side quests while on the ship can feel a bit tedious (skeleton talking is just painstakingly slow), I find myself paying more attention to the ship's crew story than I did to character arcs in Desperados III.
If you're here for the 'tactics' it definitely won't disappoint, they've taken the good from previous and built upon them (Toya's teleport is awesome). They also made some things more difficult (e.g you can't converse with a guard forever like you could with Aiko, it's now on a countdown). The challenges were challenging, but as some people have mentioned, there's no requirement to use a particular set of people, as the missions can be completed with any combo of crew, but there are times I've regretted not taking another crew member for their skillset.
TLDR: Great mechanics, better story than Desperados III IMO, but not the instant classic that Shadow Tactics will forever be. Well worth a play through at full cost.
I'm disappointed that Mimimi is shutting down, but happy they made one more, I'm positive that Shadow Gambit will be as replayable for me as their previous entries.
Maybe the gameplay could be fun. But it is so tiresome to get pushed time and again by the woke agenda nonsense, that any game that got sweet baby inc or the likes consultants under the belt deserves all the negative backlash. We want to play video games. We just want to play video games like the old times. You know. Without all the DEI woke BS. I do not care about the sexuality of a character if it's serving the lore. Companies can still do games without a woke consultant and really sold them. But they don't want to realize that DEI are killing the industry.
Shadow Tactics and Desperados III are better.
This game tries to offer more freedom to the player.
The missions take place on an island with several landing points. There is no fixed route. You can land anywhere and approach your targets from any direction.
This is a noble goal, unfortunately this severely limits the ability of the level designers to create intricate puzzles for the player to solve.
Thus it dumbs down the gameplay and it quickly becomes stale and repetitive.
Moreover the game is woke.
The main character originally looked very different. Thanks to collaboration with sensitivity consulting firm 'Sweet Baby Inc.' she got their final appearance.
