One of the best racing games ever

I still can't believe how good it is. I remember when i first played it I was a kid, the game was awesome for me, but too hard - I couldn't win even once and usually finished race on the last place. But boy! Now that I bought that game here and played it again, I am stunned! Driving model is one of the best ever - even after all NFS-es, Colin McRae Rallys, DIRTs, GRIDs, Forzas and Gran Turismos I find driving feel among beast of them. It's just unbelievable that they manged to make it over 20 years ago. Of course you can't really add points for "great graphics" to a 20 yr old game, but it's worth noted that visuals aged pretty well. The only thing I would like improved if they ever made "remastered version" is number of cars and tracks we can choose from. While it was standard at the time of game release, we are now used to dozens of vehicles and maps to choose from. You know the feeling when you run a game you remember very fondly, but hasn't been playing for years only to discover that it isn't as fun as you remember? Well, it's not the case this time. This is the only "nostalgia game" that has actually surpassed my expectations for it.

Great!

Great, great, great. Have I already said great? Well, it's great. Get it, now. Moreover 3D acceleration is an added value, I didn't even know dosbox could support voodoo 3dfx emulation.

gem memory 2

we loved the first game, were fully stunned by the graphics in this one, but didn't liked the steering...that's why we didn't purchased screamer 2 back in the 90's... it's more drifting...a bit too much drifting :).... it's a nice add-on for my 2 lil i4770/i4790 4gb gpu 8/16gb ram win10 pc's; on them i play older pc (90's - early2010's)/dos/amiga-emu games...still looking out for older cheap games on sale...

Classic

This game was so far ahead of its time it was unreal. The only bad thing in this was the copilot signs are mistimed. Its fast its fun maybe even slightly better than Sega rally.

Honestly I just... JUST.... JUST! JUUUST

The handling is pretty good, but the racetracks are so narrow. I feel like I'm driving a shopping cart down a small italian grocery store hallway. You ever been shopping at a tiny little family owned italian grocery store? the isles are NARROW! God bless them, nice people, I love them. I'm just saying, Narrow isles! perfect example for this, only reason why I say that. Just pushing along the shopping cart and it's like the sides of the cart are grinding against the sides of the bottles of olive oil "SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" *sparks flying* That's how it feels to drive in this game. The car handling is pretty good, REALLY good even considering it's such an old game. I actually enjoy that, but it's ruined by the fact that there isn't any real room to drive. the race tracks are so narrow and skinny that I could be fooled into thinking I'm driving a train on the tracks or something. There are also very unusual sections where the ground is less than half an inch (in the video game world) higher than the rest of the street appearing like ground your car should be able to drive over, but when you try to, it's like slamming into a giant invisible wall. It's like that one comedian that said they weren't feeling good and tried to go from their carpet room into their tile kitchen and got scared because it felt like they were falling off a cliff. Another issue is that when the game installs it creates two icons. Normal game icon loads up and the game looks like painfully low graphics quality (looks worse than the images on the game sale page right here) But then you click icon 2 (called 3d effects version or something? I can't remember the exact name) This one loads up the game and makes it look much nicer and cleaner and more fresh and updated and new, but it blows up and resizes your computer screen and leaves the bottom half of the game as a stretched out piece of the desktop, so I can only see the top half of the game, crashes my computer when I try to exit. Almost!
