Description
The Boss of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States but the Saints are just getting started.

After a catastrophic alien invasion of Earth, the Saints have been transported to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. With homies new and old, and an arsenal of superpowers and strange weapons, they must fight to free humanity from alien overlord Zinyak and his alien empire, saving the world in the wildest open world game ever.

• The American Dream – Play as the President of the United States in a wild story that spans countries, time, and space. It’s up to you to free the world.

• Super Hero-in-Chief – Leap over buildings. Kill people with your mind. Run through tanks. Those are just some of the powers on offer that you can wield in your quest.

• Alien Toys of Destruction - Wield an impressive array of alien vehicles and weapons - the Inflato-Ray, the Polarizer, the Disintegrator, and many more.

• Custom Weapons, Custom Mayhem – You’ve customized your character. You’ve customized your clothes. Now you also have a powerful weapon customization system.

• Fully Re-Elected – Saints Row IV Re-Elected contains an impressive 25 DLC Packs, including the Dubstep Gun (Remix) Pack, the Presidential Pack, the Commander-In-Chief Pack, and two celebrated episodic story expansions: Enter The Dominatrix and How The Saints Save Christmas.

Saints Row IV: Re-Elected requires connecting to Epic Online Services with an Epic Account for cross-platform multiplayer between Epic Games, GOG and Steam.

WARNING: Not DRM free anymore

Another sad example why I avoid buying games on GOG these days: After adding censored games whitout making it clear on the Store page (Kayne & Lynch 2) and trying to sell the latest Hitman with the annoying forced online now they add DRM to games you paid for which were DRM free before. (In this case Epic Launcher) We have to expect other publishers (like for example 2K did with the Bioshock series) will "update" their games with their "launchers" in the future too.

Forced DRM/Malware "Upgrade"

The version I purchased can no longer be downloaded from my library. This is unacceptable.

One of the best sandbox games ever

Game is absolutely awesome. I've played it thru to 100% completion 3 times (yeah, quite insane): Xbox 360 version, Xbox One Re-Elected version and PC version. Superpowers are incredibly fun, they can easily replace most of your weapons, you also don't need to use cars, planes and all other sorts of vehicles anymore (unless you want to do some specific challenges). Game world is of course the same as in Saints Row The Third (except those aliens and spaceships), but it's still great to see again. Overall - totally recommended! P.S. Story DLCs are great too!

A "Downgrade" nobody asked for

Saints Row IV was okay. It was an "Ascended DLC" for SRIII and plays like such. 3.5-4/5 Re-Elected, however, is garbage. Yes, the remaster is prettier and more taxing on your hardware, because if you're playing a 10-year-old game, obviously that's the most important thing. Everything else about Re-Elected is a disaster, from bugs that screw up your Diversions to breaking mod support to corrupting saves. And for a "DRM Free" game to require a login to for an entirely different launcher is ridiculous.

A criminally overlooked masterpiece!

Saints Row IV seems to get a bad rap from a lot of folks - understandably so, at least on the surface. Reusing the exact same city from the previous title while also completely upending the gameplay into something unexpected, SR4 can be quite divisive as it somehow manages to be both too similar and too different from its predecessor at the same time. Because of this, despite being a huge fan of the first three games, I never ended up playing this one until the beginning of last year; but, if I'd known how good it was, I would have gladly paid full price at release. The superpowers are amazing. Gliding around the city in a snazzy business jacket with no pants, blasting aliens with a chain-reaction explosive that hits every car within a mile-radius while making dudes fly across the map by punching them in the face never gets old. Jumping around the city to collect power-up orbs is much more enjoyable than finding all the hidden flags or pigeon droppings in other modern games and reminds me of my wasted youth spent playing Banjo-Kazooie and Jak & Daxter in the best way possible. The regenerating health mechanic of SR3 is replaced with a classic health-pickup system and combat is all the better for it. Even the mini-games are extremely fun. The writing is hilarious. Though there are many, many references to previous titles (even the Xbox-exclusive original), it's easy to get into and enjoy even for newcomers to the series. The humor manages to find a nice middle ground between Saints Row 2's too-dark mean-spirited gallows and The Third's try-hard over-the-top wackiness, producing a lot of wonderful character-based comedy and the best parodies I've seen in a video game. The whole cast is quite lovable, even the main villain, and I found myself feeling genuinely sad when the credits rolled over 40 hours in. Oh, and don't forget to check out the Christmas special DLC missions once you've finished the main game. They're so good they've become a holiday tradition for me!
