Deep Silver and CDPR Should Be Ashamed
Newest version of Saints Row IV includes an install for Epic Online Services, meaning that this game now breaks GOG's "DRM-free" pledge, and you can only downgrade to the previous non Re-Elected build by going into GOG Galaxy by using the beta build feature (which at the time of my writing this didn't work). It's not like most other major alterations where it's made a separate game in users' libraries like with eg Doom I and Doom II Enhanced being placed in the library alongside the original games separately. I've heard reports of this game becoming far less stable and more crash prone, but I cannot comment on that personally since I immediately gave up on the game after the EOS stuff and uninstalled the game from my PC. I don't understand why this game was ruined on Steam and GOG for the sake of porting all of the coop servers to Epic's online service, and I doubly don't understand why GOG Galaxy's integration with Epic wasn't utilized for online coop and just left the EOS installation out of the latest build for this platform. Practically everyone who's bought Saints Row IV since 2015 already bought the Game of the Century Edition to get all of the DLC for the game, so the BS selling point of getting all of the DLC free was fluff. Again, why they didn't just make Re-Elected a separate product that people who bought Saints Row IV free I will never get. I hope the final pay out from Epic Games was worth breaking one of the Saints Row games for PC players, further losing respect and trust from those who are already feeling uneasy about the future of Volition and the SR series moving forward.

Now with free malware!
The game itself is good. Nothing special and even for the series it's not the best one... but now the old saves are broken, the multiplayer doesn't work and the borderless windowed functionality is gone! Also now it has EOS (Epic Online Services) that is not epic, barely online and doesn't service anything... So this game's dead now. I rarely say this but... it's better to sail under a Jolly Roger for this one.

Recent update adds Epic Online Services
The recent patch for Saints Row 4 introduced Epic Online Services into the GOG version of the game and has caused multiple new issues like crashes, missing fullscreen mode and broken save files. Epic Online Services is now mandatory to play online coop. The developers have also made the offline installer for the previous version of the game unavailable. I purchase games on GOG to avoid invasive third party software. Having it patched into a game I have "owned" here for more than 5 years is upsetting and makes me question whether GOG is abandoning it's DRM free approach. I hope GOG/ Volition return the offline installer for the previous version of the game and that the addition of Epic Online Services was an oversight on GOGs part.

Beware of Epic Spyware
Another great game ruined by Publisher. The Re-Elected forces Epic Online Service and DRM onto you. Yes you can still download the old Game Of The Century-Edition by Managing Instaltiion-Option via Gallaxy but that's not the point. Re-Elected-uppdate should have been an it's own seperate entry from the beginning. Instead you have to install the Re-Elected Edition and then UPDATE to the GOTC-Edition. Pathetic! Avoid the Re-Elected-Edition long as this issue isn't solved.
