The Boss of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States but the Saints are just getting started.
After a catastrophic alien invasion of Earth, the Saints have been transported to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. With homies new and old, and an arsenal of superpowers and strange weapons, they must fight to free humanity from alien overlord Zinyak and his alien empire, saving the world in the wildest open world game ever.
• The American Dream – Play as the President of the United States in a wild story that spans countries, time, and space. It’s up to you to free the world.
• Super Hero-in-Chief – Leap over buildings. Kill people with your mind. Run through tanks. Those are just some of the powers on offer that you can wield in your quest.
• Alien Toys of Destruction - Wield an impressive array of alien vehicles and weapons - the Inflato-Ray, the Polarizer, the Disintegrator, and many more.
• Custom Weapons, Custom Mayhem – You’ve customized your character. You’ve customized your clothes. Now you also have a powerful weapon customization system.
• Fully Re-Elected – Saints Row IV Re-Elected contains an impressive 25 DLC Packs, including the Dubstep Gun (Remix) Pack, the Presidential Pack, the Commander-In-Chief Pack, and two celebrated episodic story expansions: Enter The Dominatrix and How The Saints Save Christmas.
Saints Row IV: Re-Elected requires connecting to Epic Online Services with an Epic Account for cross-platform multiplayer between Epic Games, GOG and Steam.

The original game with LAN multiplayer was removed. Now I have to preserve the game on my own and resort to piracy if I lose the data in the future.
DRM is great, but GOG keeps leaving random games in the dust and borking original verisons of games.
Could be legal reasons, but either way its B.S.
ALERT, this game is NOT drm free, when you boot the game EPIC games services always boots up with it, really annoying might as well have just kept the steam version installed, shame on the game devs for the terrible desision on working with EPIC for just money, also shame on GOG for allowing this.
My prefered method of playing IV is hour (or two) at time,
unlike Saints row the third i do not recommand sinking in for longer bursts it gets slightly monotone.
Saints row (when it comes to PC releases of main line titles, ie: 2, the third, IV) has quality incline, alas this particular game lacks the good balance of the third so it is best to play it in between other games or even beter other genres of games.
If you do have any of the major science fiction, musical, literary, gaming (seriously this game pays homage to zork, streets of rage, WWF circa mid 90s, features Biz Markie, constantly throws in literary references that flew WAY above my dumb head, Night before christmas and a christmas story!) you may be pleased to have plentyfull artifacts and storylines in here that let you have fun with these.
It requires specific mindset - if you just want to run around and kill things, blow stuff up with your mates (co-op, NPCs whatever) for 60 minutes you will have fun with it. If you are looking for game where you can wield lightsabre, Robocop's handgun, old pirate's blunderbuss, ToS Star Trek phaser (did not spot TNG ones alas, but i am guessing tehre are some) or gun based around the idea of boombox (you can choose between few flavours: Metal, Dubstep and hip-hop) - because music can be fun to kill with you may allso have fun. If you want to rolleplay as craqzy version of superhero / supervillain you can do that.
But taking it seriously will dampen your fun entirely so play sparsly and enjoy.
As person whom kinda likes what Star Trek was (we now call it Orville because that is proper suxcessor to TNG, DS9), Star Wars used to be, and pleothora of other things (matrix, Robocop, Terminator, etc., etc., etc.) i thorrowly enjoy doing side missions, gliding about in the simulation part of the game. But i understand it is not for everyone.
The gameplay and character customisation & progression are this game's strongest points. You have plenty of superpowers to play with but the main gripe about them is that they make cars absolutely pointless when you can just run at mach speeds and jump over buildings within pretty much the first few hours of the game essentially throwing out the window the gangster wheely-shooty and turning it into a superhero game with guns but the cars are still there and their customisation alongside with player customisation has improved a little bit from SR3 with a few more extra items and a slight improvement to the graphics. This game series has gotten progressively more and more batshit insane and I personally love it. If you want serious storylines with deep and profound messages with realistic gameplay this game is definately not for you, however if you don't mind immature humor and relentless silliness then I can definately recommend this game and at it's current discounted price of 5$ which nets you every piece of DLC alongside with the core game I would say it's a must buy if this game has caught your eye.
I wasn't a huge fan of Saints Row 3, but Saints Row 4 remedies essentially all issues I had with its predecessor. SR3 tried really hard to have the grittiness of the previous games alongside off-the-rails whackiness, while this entry does at no point take itself seriously. Yet, somehow, it has substantially better writing. The characters receive more development and have actual personalities, the arcs are tied off rather nicely. The jokes are funny and land. It's actually quite charming and I found myself attached to everyone once more.
The superpowers are naturally the big addition to this game, and damn, are they fun. A valid criticism that I have heard is that they are so powerful that other aspects of the game are greatly nerfed and, frankly, useless. Guns still have their uses, but most people won't find themselves using cars unless they force themselves to. The ability to run, jump, and glide across the cityscape is simply too tempting to bother yourselves with the otherwise impressive vehicle customization that carried on from SR3. Quite the design overlook, but I can't be too bothered. Being a superpowered force of destruction is exhilirating. It's dumb, honest fun, far better than the arrogant attitude of Saints Row 3.
There are plenty of side missions and activities, all of them fun and weird. I completed 100% of them (not the whole game), so I'd say the devs did a good job. Couple that with rewards that always build towards more, you've got an addicting loop.
Graphically, the game isn't particularly impressive for the time, but it works for the most part. Especially when you consider the gliched out graphics that commonly occur here. The selection of music is quite good, and the ability to turn on radio anywhere is much appreciated.
I would say that Saints Row 2 is the best SR game, but this one is the most fun. It's simple, but the best way to describe this game. Highly recommend to those looking for a world they can go crazy in.
