There is no action or tension in this game. It is about exploring, traversing and scaling the world, learning some of the lore and helping people out. Its visuals are a big selling point as this is something you won't find anywhere else.
Must-try!
So far, I have played a couple of hours and Im loving it!
The story is maybe a story about growing up and in the beginning a bit sad but it grew to me.
The chosen art style is of course the star of this game. The landscapes with the outlines and especially the colours reminding me a bit of the Moebius comic art style and are fitting for a big open desert.
Maybe the gameplay mechanics arent much and can be compared with Breath of the wild with the climbing stamina and the gliding, but I dont mind!
What I also like are the "inner thoughts" of Sable, the main character, which give her a nice personality.
Some maybe will think the price is too high for an idie game, but I believe the artists behind this game deserve that money. And Im glad I bought it!
Overall I really enjoyed Sable. The positives for me are the relaxing gameplay that emphasises exploration and puzzles and leaves out combat entirely. I can't confirm the bugs mentioned in other reviews, still the graphics seems to be unpolished (i.e. frew animation frames, grass not always on the ground, jumping shadow of the sun).
+ Unique art style
+ Open world exploration
+ Minimalistic design/gameplay
+ Relaxing atmosphere
~ Puzzles over Combat
- Unpolished graphics (few animation frames, grass not on ground)
- Wobbly hover bikes (the fast ones)
Pros:
-It shows a valuable lesson: the important thing is to enjoy the ride, rather than just think on the destination.
-Nice music.
-Very good game to just chill.
-Nice characters.
Cons:
-Sometimes the color palette is very monotonous and boring.
-Might become boring after some hours to play.
Things that may be of your interest:
-Not a single enemy, there is no fight at all.
You're Sable, starting the "gliding", an initiation of your people to the adult life.
The game is beautiful and quite unique looking. That it why i wanted to play it at first, not knowing anything about the gameplay. I stayed for the story and the atmosphere.
This is a game of exploration. You will discover old spaceships and temples to open, learning about the planet you're on. The side quests are interesting and all bring something new to the story.
The gameplay is quite the same as Zelda Breath of The wild. You can climb with an stamina bar (that can be improve) and have a big map to explore and relays were the quests are. But this game is more simple : no fight, boss, nor bad guys just the desert to explore with your glider. This is about taking it's time, looking at the landscape, listening to the music (really beautiful one) and exploring old ruins.
Somes blackspot : the menu is bugged (minor bug) so sometimes it will be impossible to navigate into it. The driving is not as smooth as i expected, and every little rock on your path will make you do unrealistic jump.
If you want action don't buy it but I you like calm exploration game with where you drive at the sound of music go for it.
