Sable

I managed to play the game after several patches (in this summer) so I've found only one unpleasant bug in it. This happened only once during more than 20 hours of play. The world and lore building is good, given the fact, that only two guys created the game, the design and overall feel is remarkable. Only few "crowded" places can be found in the game, but the overall aestethics, the choices of colors and level design are also a marvelous work. This is a unique experience worth to try. I give it a 4.5/5 star. I wish we had such indie titles in every year.

This isn't my usual cup of tea as I typically go for FPS shooters, realistic graphics, and big action. That said, it was a pleasant change of pace. The story is compelling and the world is so bueatiful. It gives me Horizon: Zero Dawn vibes, but without the stressful giant robot combat. I would highly recomend this for people who want to just relax or as a wholesome gift for the young gamers out there.

Despite a couple of technical quirks the game is a rich and relaxing experience. It is beautiful to look at and the music perfectly compliments the visuals. The pace and tone transform what could be bleak or boring into a meditative journey into mysterious lands. There's little to no threat and nothing to get the pulse racing but thats not the point. It's the definition of a well made indie game lead by fantastic art direction that pays tribute to the work of Moebius in particular. Loving it.

It taks a while until you fully immerse yourself in Sable. But when you do it, you love it. Great game, recommended.

I suspect that the various fixes for Sable have now repaired the bugs complained about in other reviews here at GOG. In any case, it was on sale recently, and it looked sort of RiME-ish, so I went for it. No disappointments thus far and no bugs at all on my fully stacked Legion gamer running Win 11. The animation style is wonderful and beautiful, the over-all game is instinctive and self-explained along the way, my controller loves it, and, best of all, it does remind me of RiME (which I obviously miss.) Sable takes place on some post-apocalyptic open world (without the boring endless zombies) and lets you ride around, run, climb and glide from giant butte to towering remnants of old tech and legendary stuff. It is different and deep and rather relaxing. Nothing to kill, so if that's your thrill go elsewhere. If the price is too high wait for the next time GOG has it on sale. (I'd say it is worth every penny.) One suggestion: turn down the sometimes-overwhelming music (there are plenty of excellent SFX) and have fun!
