Rune Classic

I wanted to play this back in the day as a teenager (mainly due to the badass box art to be honest) but never had a chance to. That is now fixed. Game is still enjoyable with some well done moments and a nice viking vibe, but I found the combats unfortunately quite uninteresting, with not much tactics involved. In my opinion if not for the nostalgia or curiosity there is not much of an argument to come back and play this instead of one of your regular games.

Do yourself a favour and buy this game, it's a great classic :)

This game actually holds up well for how old it is. It plays well and can play in fullscreen and windowed. Good throwback

I don't know what the developers did to this game, both Rune Classic and Rune Gold that is included with the further's purchase, but for some stupid reason these games either have major glitches, or in the case of Rune Gold, will not even work anymore on modern systems. What we have here are two broken and even an unplayable game. These games used to work fine years ago, but nowadays they are just not willing to work anymore on modern systems and it doesn't seem like the developers care to even fix this game. What makes these even worse is that GOG was the ONLY way to get Rune Gold since Steam does not include it with Rune Classic, yet this current build of Rune Gold doesn't even work anymore. Ironic since GOG was supposed to be about bringing older games back to current systems in DRM-free form... Do not waste your money on this release.
