Re-Volt

I have a lot of fond memories of this little gem. I played it both on DreamCast and PC back in 1999 & 2000. Overall this GOG version is as faithful as it gets. The physics, the menus and game play. However its worth noting there are a few oddities with this release. For one the game comes with out of the box controller support. But its finicky at best. I need to enter the game, turn on the controller setting, then reset for it take effect. Even after that the controls end up being to sensitive at first. I recommend turning that down. But for me after about one race the controller stops being reponsive! There are also wierd oddities with other cars durring the replay. The AI is no better then it once was getting caught on many items as you drive around. And the games rubberbanding still rivals Mario Kart. But the game runs like butter, smooth. The graphics in 1440P hold up shockingly well. The track backgrounds are some of the best in racing game history. Not to mention the sound track just ****n bangs. Well worth a pick up for 5 dollars, so long as your OK with the minor issues.

I must admit I'm not really into motorisation, nor into racing games, with all this car customisation and other stuff that I don't understand or care about. But this game rocks. Just pick the car, start the race and... enjoy! No distracting bullsh*t - just pure fun :) And it even runs on newest Win11 on FullHD+ resolution without any tinkering! Thank you GOG for bringing this game in!

Looking at release date of this title, initially I thought: "could be a fun little game, but probably nothing special on the technical side". How wrong I was... Technically it's quite impressive for it's time. I was especially surprised by the supported resolutions (1080p!!) and realistic physics. Excellent simulation of RC racing and fun racing in general. Highly recommended!

Excellent fun arcade racer featuring fantasy remote control cars. Good soundtrack, good level design, Nice and fun cars to unlock and a slower mode for those of you who want slower paced races. Lots of fun to be had with racing and the combat of cars power-ups, nitro, crashes.

Quite nice racing game which aged suprisingly well. It still looks nice, it plays nice and it seems my kids love it as I used to like it. Racing RC cars through supermarket while deploying pools of oil and shooting fireworks is still fun as ever. Somewhere on the interweb floats community patch (if not included in gog copy already) with widescreen support. I still remember cheats - if you want all cars, name your player CARNIVAL, if you want all tracks name player TRACKER. You can use the name, then go back one step and rename for 2nd cheat, then go back one step and use your nick.
