A week from a Redneck's life:
Deer Diary:
Munday: Well, we crash-landed that UFO in the desert and Bubba says he wants to go home. Heck, I don't blame him 'cause there ain't no place like Hickston. But according to my map, we're gonna have to blast our way through jack o' lope farms and a riverboa...
Munday: Well, we crash-landed that UFO in the desert and Bubba says he wants to go home. Heck, I don't blame him 'cause there ain't no place like Hickston. But according to my map, we're gonna have to blast our way through jack o' lope farms and a riverboat as well as a brothel (Bubba can't wait) 'fore we get home again.
Toosday: Met new folks like Daisy Mae (she's purty). Bikers, pigs, cows and jack o' lopes. I think I even saw the King at the Slurp n' Burp.
Winsday: Yeehaw! Got to joyride in a Swamp Buggy and a motorcycle that were both armed to the teeth. I hope those peoples I ran over will be alrite. I still got a darn jack 'o lope stuck in the grill though.
Thersday: New ways to destroy stuff! I found over 10 weapons like a crossbow that shoots dynamite-loaded chickens and a slingblade. Mmmm-Hmm!
Fri-day: Sure am hungry! I just need some good ol' redneck powerups like pork rinds, cow pies and some of my granpappy's moonshine!
Saterday: Boy I sure so like those toe tapping tunes by that good ol' boy Mojo Nixon.
Sunday: Heck! With all the new places we been, I sure wish my kinfolk could've come along for the ride!
Want to experience more than just a week? Then take a dip into the Redneck's world of floating whiskey and widespread pork rinds. The crazy adventure continues through Redneck Rampage, Redneck Rampage Rides Again: Arkansas and Redneck Rampage: Suckin' Grits on Route 66. Now all three games bundled together.
But wait, there's more! For those curious about the Redneck language you can download and install "Cuss Pack" add-on (follow the readme.txt file for instructions).

One of My favorite PC game! Build-engine was perfect idea :). So many memories. Classic and amazing action game with tons of rednecks and hillbillies.. unique sense of humor.
Yes this game isn't as good as 3D realms FPS games (blood, Duke, SW), but it's still a thrill ride from start to finish. The setting and atmosphere is well done and really makes you feel as if the world you are playing in is real. It feels like a place that could exist--I guess in a way it does. The graphics look slightly more gritty and realistic than other build engine FPS games, and the art style fits well with the theme of the game. The music is good and catchy, but may get annoying with extended play. I recommend turning the music off because it really kills the atmosphere of the game.
Level design is well done for the most part, but some levels in the first game can become very confusing, which may lead to frustration. For example in one level you have to find a switch which is not easy to locate. Moreover, some (actually most) levels IN RNR 1 are just too damn large, and drag on for a bit. In fact, I'll go as far as to say that the first game is the weakest link in the series, as the expansion pack and the sequel are very well done. Aside from these flaws, RNR is a must play for gamers who love 90s shooters. Total package for a small price.
When I played it first I was maybe 16, now I'm 28 and I still love it. The humor, the farm amosphere, the charm of the characters, the quotes - everything is unique and nice.... I'm so fascinated that I'm planning to rebuild a new version of the whole game in the next 5 -10 years... :) Its a gift from me for the best classic shooter ever....

So, play the game as often as you can... It's a good feeling to be IN this game... :o)
Among my friends and I, this was the game we most wished we could get running under XP. Thank you GOG for doing it. Goofy at times, almost completely politically incorrect, and dang fun. I am working my way through it again, ten+ years later. Glad I saved my old gamepad. Yee-Haw!
After playing Redneck Rampage, Suckin' Grits on Route 66 and Rides Again on BuildGDX, Raze and RedNukem and beat the two games and one expansion, 2 to 3 times each. What do I think of these games... they're pretty dang fun! The music is awesome on it's own, the environments are good looking for it's time (Tho probably not as good looking as Shadow Warrior and Blood) the voice acting is also good but can be annoying and the gameplay is a mix bag, the movements and aiming are smooth however the hitscan on some of the weapons are not that good but not terrible either. The pistol's bullets go all over the place, the shotgun's spread is horizontal and not as good as Duke Nukem 3D or Blood's shotgun. Funny enough a source port from 2010 called eRampage32 or eRedneck fixed the hitscan and shotgun spread, why didn't BuildGDX, Raze or RedNukem also tried to fix the spread or at least make it an option is beyond me.
Story is not much but 2 rednecks named Leonard & Bubba were driving home from a fair with their prized pig, but their pig get's stolen by aliens, Bubba get's spooked and runs off and you gotta find him in almost each level while collecting items, killing aliens and cloned, drunken hicks and finding keys.
Now as for which Source port to use I played them on BuildGDX, Raze and RedNukem 3 times over and so far I think Raze is the best or at least most polished and it also also has Vulkan rendering, but I wished it had the option to add colors to the keys like BuildGDX and add an option to fix the shotgun spread like eRampage but I'd imagine those would be no easy task.
