Raiden Legacy

At first glance, it may seem like $10 is a lot for a set of arcade shoot 'em ups, but I spent more money than this each day playing Raiden in college. This is one of the great scrolling shooters. It is fast, but it is not impossibly so. It is very playable, and even is a joy when using a keyboard for controls. It doesn't have a spectacular story (it's a shoot-'em-up) but it compels you to keep shooting until the ending. If you like a good shoot 'em up, and/or you want to relive the age of arcades, give this one a try.

My friends and I are delighted to have found this shmup - it's really fun with an extra USB keyboard so fingers don't collide! (Or gamepads if you have those). Runs perfectly smooth on my Mac! The only complaint I have is not having the luxury of unlimited continues without the easy mode to at least unlock the levels for Mission mode or play through all the levels to check em out, but I suppose it's nice to work up to them as well. Someone let me know if there is a way to access easy mode though :P

Great game! For those who like the genre (like me) is a great choice. Fun, nostalgic and challenging.

Played on Windows 7 and an iMac OSX Yosemite (2009 model). Logitech F310 set to XInput. Played great on both! PROS: + Fast and fun arcade shooter action. + Multiple games from the Raiden series. + Local multiplayer and co-op. + Achievements and offline score boards. + Modest hardware requirements. CONS: - No online multiplayer. - No gameplay recording (unless you use something like Fraps). VERDICT: Worth owning.

I mostly remember these games from the glory 1980's coin-up machines on the local grill. Everytime I had some money I always H A D to play these games :-) Now i'ts Great to see those games here at GOG.com :-)
