Quasimorph is a mix of classic turn-based roguelike RPG with an unique extraction twist:
If you die, you lose everything you took on the mission.
If you survive, you keep everything you looted.
No exceptions. No excuses. No mercy.

Nothing in this Endless Space is belongs to you.

Far into the future, the space itself is privatized. Corporations actively seize control of the Solar System and trying to extend their reach far beyond its boundaries. It will be up to you to uncover the truth and the unforgivable things humanity has committed in the deep, dark depths of space

Level the playing field. At any cost.

Become the boss of your own Private Military Company: carry out orders from corporations, earn reputation with your blood and sweat. Explore planetary bases, secret labs, and wreckage of spaceships to find new technologies, abilities, and other items that will help you level the playing field during operations.

Overcome, adapt and become better.

Remember that you have an advantage: clone the best employees and send them to certain death to probe the weaknesses of your opponents. There is no need to risk valuable human assets and expose your PMC to unnecessary legal risks, but nobody cares about the fate of a clones.

Unravel the mystery of Quasimorphosis.

A strange disease is spreading on space stations. Crew members are getting sick with an unknown fever, and the rifts are opening the way to demons from Bramphatur to our dimension. Find out the dark secret behind this threat to all life and pile up the bodies of your clones to overcome anyone standing in your way.

Don't bury yourself under crossfire.

Corporations hire ruthless mercenaries to carry out their shadow operations. Demons distort human nature and pervert human evolution. Gather a team of professionals, count your ammo, and keep track of your equipment to be prepared for any perversions of this space slaughter.

Needs MAJOR balancing work

Like some have mentioned, there's an incredible game in here but there are some major issues that need to be solved by the developers before it becomes fun. First and foremost is that, past one skull missions, mission difficulty level does not represent the actual difficulty of the level itself. I've been on 4 skull missions that were a cakewalk and 2 skull missions that were an absolute killer. Additionally, resistances don't seem to actually function properly, especially with Cold. I should not have a character with high Cold resistance getting one shotted by a basic Tzetclan rifle. Enemies are complete bullet sponges - a single Manager with middling armor should not take 6+ shotgun shells and 20%+ of weapon durability to kill. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that using anything other than the most basic silenced weapon causes all enemies on the floor to aggro and swarm the character, making stealth play basically pointless. Inventory system is clunky, as items do not always auto stack and mission inventory is too limited, so you're constantly making judgements about what to keep/loot on the mission, bogging down the action. That said, I like the barter/reputation system, characters, classes, and general atmosphere. I'd like to see the background fluff elaborated on more, as well as having the map expanded to include the outer planets.

Who is the real demon?

Like a fair game? This one approaches that more closely than most; with some training wheels to start. This games requires pacing yourself, thinking a few steps ahead, and sticking to a strategy. because the enemy can kill just as quick as you. The meta is to grind gun upgrades and then break the game. Ignoring that strats depend on what faction you are fighting and what their current power and tech levels are. Weak factions will mostly use melee, at the beginning this is everyone, and it is a good opportunity to practice using your tools with reletive impunity. Learn what factions use which damage types (particularly the demons) to inform armor decisions. Some attacks cannot or should not be tanked. This has led to some dodge builds with the dodge focused clone. Eventually you'll still get hit, and you won't always survive... makes sense huh? Welcome to door kicking demons. Entrance and exit strategies keep you alive. Weapon choices are much more impactful. Consider your enemies' typical armor spread and max armor values. It is almost always a good idea to pack a sniper rifle they inflict guaranteed wounds. Hit and Run. Or Smack and Wait. One strategy is to prepare to fight the demons rather than the humans, then purposely summon the demons thinning out more difficult humans; or Elevator Dance, your choice. Learning information on each faction is part of the fun. Die a few times, Scout out the planets. Feel out the Factions. Bait in the demons. Weaponize what you learn. After the addition of the ship upgrades. The game feels good with a few unlocks. Until then it's a slog to get prepped to survive demonic planets. Fight a variety of factions. They drop different parts; Marauder is BAE in this regard. Ancom/Realware for Engineering Crates SBN/Ancom for Comms Focus Mission Scanner>Lander>Weapon Upgrades Pick a favorite weapon chip. Try everything. Power tools can kill barons if they fit your class. Upgrade meds. Use Right Click. Enjoy!

Promising concept

Unfortunately the game isn't there just yet. From game breaking bugs like enemies shooting out of turn and the UI being extremely insufficient, I just can't help but feel let down. It has the core concept down but the experience itself isn't all too great based on the fact that it's too shallow at this point and frustrating when you do encounter issues. Let me just name a few issues - As previously mentioned, the turn-based system simply not working and straight up killing you. In general I am also a little dissatisfied with this system. It boils down to abusing the stance system. Stand behind a door, use sneak and open the door for free, switch to normal stance and shoot a guy behind the door, use your last turn to close the door, repeat until the enemy is dead without them ever having a chance to fight back. - Items with insufficient description, one example being the pacts that quasimorph barons drop. They clearly state one thing but then have a chance, without it being mentioned, to kill you or turn you into a quasimorph (also killing you). - The whole quasimorphosis system being based around planets, this could easily be solved by it being mentioned while traveling between planets. - The loot being too shallow, I can safely say that after 18 missions I've seen all that corporations have to offer in terms of barter items. The game gives you one of the best snipers in the game for playing the tutorial. This takes away from the magic of finding better loot over the course of the game and this is where the game, I believe, has to shine. The joy of playing long save file, stacking up your stash with all kinds of goodies. I am sure all of this can be ironed out but this is the gamble you make whenever you buy an early access title.

Every second is do or die.

Quickly became a favorite and constantly torments me as 24hrs worth of progress felt like it was ripped from me on several occasions though it never felt like the game was being unforgiving, just punishing for my arrogance. best advice stay humble and percy can survive anything, even a buzzsaw removing his arm in the first 5 turns.

Dont Bother unless youre a masochist

There's Difficulty, then there's this nonsense. I'm all for challenge but this is just stupid, and the dev is only listening to try hard sweaty "Yes men" telling them to just make it harder and harder. You can die at the drop of a hat, realistic fair enough, but I don't have a squad, I'm on my own, and you have ALOT of enemies to deal with. Everything that needs to be crafted needs materials but your starting backpacks are useless so your inventory fills up far too quickly. And this whole "you cant leave until you do the job" is BEYOND STUPID. So if you're in a hopeless situation, oh well tough, no using common sense and bugging out. Great game design.... The "Insurance Kit" which used to give you basic gear each time you died is gone, so if you die a few too many times? Game Over. Lost all your good gear on an unlucky run at a later point of the game where the already difficulty cliff has gotten higher? Games tanked. Got be one of the worst games I've ever played. Difficulty is fine if it adds to the games fun, this however, is the equivalent of eating a glass sandwich, in fact no. Eating a glass sandwich would be MORE fun than this. There's far better Roguelikes out there than this garbage, save your time and money. Sseth is rarely wrong, but man he was WAY off on this one.
