Agent Nelson Tethers just solved the biggest case of his career. So why isn't he satisfied? There’s still the case of a missing eraser factory foreman, a whispering madness is still creeping from mind to mind, and a troubling recurrence of... creatures... is lurking into the town.
The FBI's Department of Puzzle Research has marked the case closed -- are they sweeping it under the rug? Or worse, do they not even care? Worried that the case will languish forever unsolved, Tethers must go rogue and venture back to the eerie town of Scoggins, Minnesota to solve the mystery of "the Hidden People" once and for all.
Sequel to the award winning Puzzle Agent (PC Gamer’s Game of the Year, IGN’s Best of E3, etc)
Creepy puzzle adventure with mystery and dark humor
Wider variety of intuitive yet challenging puzzles
I really love these games. The puzzles are varied and fun. There is a good hint system if you're stuck. TRhe animation and voice acting is really good (love the voice of hte sheriff). I wish somebody would make more game like this.
I must admit, having played both more than once. I think the first one was better. However, only by a small amount. I love this series, and hope that more of them are made, hopefully in other locations etc.
The story is entertaining and the humour matches both the story and the puzzles perfectly.
It's probably best to think of the "Puzzle Agent" games as a single game in 2 parts. The second game continues the story where the first one leaves off and gives you more puzzles and more quirky character interactions.
When I played the first Puzzle Agent game, the premise was new and refreshing, even though the puzzles (especially the instructions) were very uneven. The story was funny, the voice acting great and it was an entertaining experience overall.
This sequel follows the exact same formula - the puzzles are basically the same, the characters are almost all the same, the setting is pretty much the same and the problems with the puzzles are the same. What was OK for the first time is now somewhat boring (even though there are some pretty funny moments) and the game feels more like a chore, not entertainment. The first episode had this, too, just not nearly as much.
The one noticeably worse aspect of the game is the voice acting; somehow the speech sounds a lot duller than before. Perhaps that's just me.
This isn't a bad game, but it isn't a great one either - if you loved the first part, you'll probably like this one well enough. I guess that would be a lukewarm "mildly-recommended".
Yup, that's about it! not a bad thing, considered the first entry but still a little disappointed from lack of originality (both in story and in puzzles).
However, it does give closure to the story and it is enjoyable, so worth playing just to see the end of the ''lunatic'' adventure of agent Tethers!
