Description
Agent Nelson Tethers just solved the biggest case of his career. So why isn't he satisfied? There’s still the case of a missing eraser factory foreman, a whispering madness is still creeping from mind to mind, and a troubling recurrence of... creatures... is lurking into the town.

The FBI's Department of Puzzle Research has marked the case closed -- are they sweeping it under the rug? Or worse, do they not even care? Worried that the case will languish forever unsolved, Tethers must go rogue and venture back to the eerie town of Scoggins, Minnesota to solve the mystery of "the Hidden People" once and for all.
  • Sequel to the award winning Puzzle Agent (PC Gamer’s Game of the Year, IGN’s Best of E3, etc)
  • Creepy puzzle adventure with mystery and dark humor
  • Wider variety of intuitive yet challenging puzzles

Much Improved over PA1

I gave PA1 a 3/5 star... to me, it was a very mediocre experience. Some good puzzles, and a largely unsatisfying story which had some potential. You don't need to play PA1 before you pick this game up, since PA2's story basically could have been the first game. It is better paced, and better told. PA2 still has the same clunky problem with dialogue (hard to skip through it quickly, and some awkwardly slow transitions), but again, you're getting this game for the puzzles. The puzzles are also of higher quality... which should be the only thing that matters. Again, I got this game on sale, and can definitely recommend it at the sale price. PA2 is the better game, and concludes properly. If there is a sequel, hopefully the devs continue to streamline the game and further refine the puzzles (of which in this game, had a very good selection: very few obtuse puzzles, and I can't remember any puzzles that were poorly explained like the first game had).

Ok for killing time on a plane.

Just like PA1 the game is a series of puzzles losely related to a detective plot. Just like PA1 the game ends relatively vaguely, with some things explained and some not. The puzzles are mostly relatively easy, with optional ones being slightly harder and sometimes requiring knowledge outside of the game. There's also one agility puzzle you can just fail without consequences. Overall I had fun while playing both, but the ending was really underwhelming.

Better Story; Bonkers Puzzles

I didn't like this one quite as much as the first. The story is just as wild and out there, if not moreso, and it was one hell of a ride; I loved it. The problem is the actual puzzles; some are easy enough, but some are really obtuse. There are some that just don't make any kind of sense because you have to hop onto the proper train of moon logic, while others are just explained very poorly.

Didn't like as much as first

Biggest thing I disliked about this one was that there were several puzzles with absolutly no reference on how to solve them so I ened up using all my hints. Besides that, not bad. Would like a 3rd if it existed. https://ugetube.com/watch/puzzle-agent-2-one-minute-game-review_qkFZArBpK27gC15.html

A let down from the 1st one

I gave the 1st a 5 star review because it fill my puzzle itch and surprised me with its sound design. But the sequel was a letdown with how the story became too simplified and the ending felt like it's cobbled together haphazardly and duct taped. Even many puzzles were disappointing because they were too simple or easy. One of the puzzle failed spectacularly because it's using American coins without giving us non Americans proper explanation and hint (they even redraw the coins from the original shape so maybe some Americans are clueless too). The story was a mess as well. It felt like the writer want to make something but got restrained by its E rating. Some characters personality and loyalty was a mess. The sherrif act as if he's going to do something bad to us but then mellowed out suddenly and let us check his files? The lady who tried to murder us suddenly became a big help to us? Oh and adding a new character only to stop her plot mid game as if the writer don't know what to do with her after we solved some of her puzzles. What's the point? And did the writer completely forget about us trying to find missing people? 3 Stars, at least I'm generous enough because the sound design is still good and the trippy part was kinda entertaining? But it's not enough for extra stars.
