Description

Where Sands of Time had a beautiful colourful aesthetic with a fairytale story and trappings, this has "dark" "grungy" aesthetic, a metal soundtrack that shows its age (in a bad way), cringeworthy attempts at seeming more adult (the Prince constantly cussing and calling people bitch, and this incredibly ridiculous intro to a "baddie" at the beginning: http://i.crackedcdn.com/phpimages/article/2/1/8/336218.gif ). Still, you might say it is unfair to compare it to the game before, and it should be judged on it's own merits. Even so, the supposed improvements in the mechanics didn't stop it from becoming repetitive and boring near the middle. So...nothing left to recommend the game for.

A classic that needs polish
Looks fine at 1600x1200... bugs out when set to 2560x1440 on a 3440x1440 ultra wide monitor... straight up 5 out of 5 stars if GOG can manage modern resolution fixes for older games like this franchise and others... I mean I'm sure these games work and play fine on older monitors but I'll need to tinker around on another monitor until GOG can roll out some updates for the ultra wide master race. Until then though it's a 3 out 5...

Poor Prince...
The worst POP I've ever played. Bad gameplay, bad controls, bad collisions, bad sounds, almost non-existent music if not always the same during bad fights.

DON'T EVEN TRY
The controls makes it unplayable on PC. Very frustrating and not a pleasant experience. I would not recommend it to anyone. Sometimes the inputs just don't register either. In the first 30 minutes I had died so many times from camera/control/environmental-related things that I just asked myself Why? Even the Prince himself said "I have better things to do than this". Play AC Origins, Odyssey or Valhalla for perfect controls and ZERO environmental/control deaths.
