Lovely Backgrounds, at least
This will be brief. What is good about the game is the beautiful setting and platforming. But the platforming is only beautifully kinetic, not challenging. The combat is awful and out of place, with none of the free grace of that of Sands of Time, clicking over and over again in single duels against enemies that have no real differences. The story is weak, about an idiot king who literally gives up the world to the devil. And with the player character they were going for a Han Solo type; unfortunately he's nothing but a generic, edgy thug; and he blathers on constantly with the raggedy princess he's trying to hook up with. (All that said, the not-dying complaint doesn't make much sense, the game over and restart is just fluidly worked into the game, being practically identical)
