Description
What happened to the humans? Set in a post-apocalyptic world strewn with cast-off pieces of machinery, Primordia tells the story of Horatio Nullbuilt, who finds his peaceful existence threatened when a rogue robot steals his power core—the sole source of energy fueling his ship and keeping him alive. To recover it, the robot and his companion, Crispin, must leave behind their idyllic home for Metropol, the city of glass and light. Their quest to reclaim what has been taken away will lead Horatio to unexpected discoveries about his origins—and a new understanding of the humans who walked the earth before him.

  • Puzzles that emphasize logical thinking and exploration rather than trial and error or pointless backtracking.
  • A streamlined interface, player-friendly design combined with the challenge and depth of the classics.
  • Features over fifty hand-drawn rooms to explore, dozens of distinctive characters to meet, and gorgeous painted cutscenes to soak in.

Almost Perfect - A Damned Fine Game

A truly great point and click adventure which sits well alongside the best in the genre. PROS: Great atmosphere. Puzzles are for the most part logical and intermediate. Phenomenal voice acting. Enjoyable post apocolyptic story. Solid score and sound. Immersive setting. Multiple endings. Excellent dialogue. Charming comedic elements. CONS: Hint system too obvious at times, outright providing solutions. A couple of puzzles of a very difficult level compared to the game in general. Introduction of third main character late in game. Not enough time to grow attached to said character. Highly recommended to any adventure game lover, or those just starting out in the genre.

My favorite adventure game of all time

I've played a lot of adventure games, starting with the Kings Quest and Quest for Glory series as a kid. I thought nothing could surmount the nostalgia. This game does.

Circuits and Rust

Primordia was a bit of a surprise for me back when I played it the first time around. I have never been a big player of point and click adventures, and often find myself getting lost in logic puzzles of one kind or another. But wow the aesthetic and worldbuilding had me leave those worries behind. And I am so glad I dove in, The world is dirty, grimy and caked in rust, something the pixel-art really helps convey. What really took me aback was how the well the characters were planned and thought out. These are machines of various degrees of programming complexity, and its very enjoyable to see how they attempt and struggle in navigating the world within their often limited paramaters of operation. If you are any kind of fan of clunky analogue sci-fi, beautiful blade runner-esque soundtracks and a story of those left behind in mankinds folly, you should give it a go. Its a mournful apocalypse of second and third generation machines still trying to live on among the dunes and dust.

Adventure Gold

It's really hard to pick a favorite Wadget Eye game... but this might be mine. Wonderful pixel art, an engaging story, and fantastic voice acting make this a modern adventure classic. A post-apocalyptic setting and questions of consciousness abound... if Rustpunk isn't a word, it should be, and it totally describes the aesthetic of this game. (Think Cyberpunk, but after all the humans are long-dead and all the shiny streets and neon lights have given way to corrosion and dust.) I played this back in 2014, and it was my introduction to Wadget Eye as a studio - since then I've become a huge fan and have played the majority of their library. As I see it, Dave Gilbert as his little team are the modern torch-bearers of the genre, and this is some of their best work alongside Shardlight and the Blackwell games.

I'm distressed. :<

After four days, of brain twisting, I finally finished Primordia. I feel distressed. Is that normal? Very good game. There were some very very minor glitches in-game but overall the story is good... or is it bad? :< I don't want to spoil it so you'll just have to play it yourself to see.
