An amazing but imperfect adventure.
I enjoyed Primordia very much - if you like adventure games, and in special Wadjet Eye games, then it's a no-brainer - buy it. However, there are a couple of minor issues with the game. First: some puzzles make no sense. Part of it is due to the rundown, dystopian sci-fi setting no doubt (I have no background on engineering or electronics) but there were absurd puzzles. Example? There is a puzzle where you have to, somehow, guess that a number you just got (something like 56346) must be translated into the corresponding letters of the alphabet and then typed on a console. I mean, WHERE did anyone say you are supposed to randomly convert numbers to letters? Bizarre puzzle design. Second issue: the ending is abrupt. Not at all unsatisfying (and you can get the best endings with pretty much any setup) but bar the 2 top endings, the others are simply... sudden. Most have a 15-second epilogue and that's it. Primordia's characters, story and setting will follow me for a long time, I am sure. It's charming and well-polished, if a bit cranky at puzzles. If you like the genre and don't mind following walkthoughs, it's no doubt a very good game to purchase.
