How do I not like this game?
I like immersive sims. I played the first Dishonored to completion (this company's claim to fame), I love Chris Avalone's work (the story in KOTOR 2 literally changed me as a person), and I like immersive sims (I beat the original Deus Ex). I just want to write down what the "last straw" was for me. I feel I'm like 1 hour away from getting into the mid-game when the game will start "getting fun", I have guns, plenty of ammo and medkits, and like 4 skill upgrades. I need to get back to my office and I run into a room with 3 enemies, followed by another very small room with 2 enemies. I spend 3 minutes waiting for the 3 enemies to spread away from the door and it's very clear that the enemies aren't following set paths and I decide to just brute force my way through. They do not let up chase, I end up fighting 5 enemies which is WAY to many for me to deal with and die. This happens 2 more times until I just decide to just go for the level exit and it works. Next up is a room with an enemy I haven't dealt with before and I "freeze" him and whack him with the wrench. I do about 7% of his health. That's about 1/3rd the damage I was expecting, because he looks very similar to an enemy I was already dealing with. He unfreezes, I die. I try again to freeze him, so I can try using a grenade, but he splits into 2 copies of himself right when I freeze him and I give up. It's really a combination of a lot of things, moving in this game is clunky (it's intentional but it's also not fun), every time I run into a new enemy I basically just have to die to him once (this kills the tension), none of the weapons are satisfying to use (again kind of intentional, but I would've rather had them make the crafting more expensive or something), and probably the biggest thing: the stealth sucks, enemies don't follow paths, I have very few movement tools, it takes AGES to get anywhere while stealthing, and honestly the map layout (at least for where I was at) is restrictive.
