Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Official Soundtrack
Description
Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition includes the unaltered original version and the Enhanced Edition in one definitive collection exclusively on GOG.com. (The original version will be automatically added to your account after purchase.) The original Planescape: Torment was released in 1999 to widespread critical acclaim. It won RPG of the Year from multiple outlets for its unconventional story, characters, and amazing soundtrack. Since then, millions of Planescape: Torment fans have enjoyed exploring the strange and dangerous city of Sigil and surrounding planes through the Nameless One's eyes.

Discover an incredibly rich story and a setting unlike anything else in fantasy. Defeat strange and alien creatures, engage in rich dialogue, and explore the dark and dangerous Planescape setting in this 50+ hour RPG classic.

This is Planescape: Torment like you’ve never seen before."What can change the nature of a man?" - You are the Nameless One, a hulking figure covered in scars and tattoos collected over the course of countless lives—none of which you can remember, but are now coming back to haunt you. You are prodded awake by Morte, a floating skull and keeper of secrets, to embark on an adventure taking The Nameless One from the dirty streets of Sigil into the mysterious Outer Planes and even into the depths of Hell itself.

Portals riddle the planar metropolis of Sigil, providing access to anywhere in existence, but only if you have the proper key. Known as the "City of Doors," Sigil is a neutral ground where demons, devas, and races from across the multiverse gather under the watchful shadow of the Lady of Pain, the city's enigmatic ruler. This is a place where the word is mightier than the sword, where thought defines reality, and belief has the power to reshape worlds.

In your search for answers, you'll find companions matching the bizarre nature of the planes: a chaste succubus who can kill with a kiss, a confused crossbow-wielding cube, a suit of armor animated by a spirit demanding JUSTICE, and more. With these companions and others at The Nameless One’s side, you will explore worlds in search of answers, all to discover that some destinies cannot be escaped and some memories cost more than an even an immortal can bear.

Ageless classics

Very good plot, acceptable (with respect to the game's age) graphics. Though it took me a while to understand how the mechanics of THAC0 works.

I missed this first time around

So, by the time i got around to wanting to try PST, it was 2013 and the original was low res, didn't work well in current Windows versions and had all sorts of graphical bugs on my system. So the Enhanced edition has been great. I play in widescreen 2560x1080, which it supports. As to the gameplay itself. I'm only perhaps... 4-6 hours in, and have started multiple times. The biggest surprise with this game vs. say, Baldurs Gate is that in the multiple re-starts I have performed, i have found many different things multiple times. I've managed to escape the starting area 2-3 different ways. Combat so far is a cake-walk. This doesn't seem to be a combat first game, however the plot and amount of different paths you can take, thus far is very impressive. If you missed this originally and/or are a fan of the Infinity Engine games, don't hesitiate.

Excellent

Amazing storytelling. Every bit of dialogue is perfectly crafted. One of the few times a game builds the world this big with just lines of text. There are some cons with it being an old game, but definitely the good overcomes the not so good. And I´m new to these infinite engine games, so no nostalgia factor

An overpriced scam about an ancient game

Summary: this is an overpriced cash-in. Do not pay 20 bucks for this game -- it is not worth it. Five bucks is what 1990s games normally sell for. Instead pick a reasonably copy from a sale or whatever and "enhance" it yourself by adding all the recommended mods. Those extra 15 bucks would most likely go towards funding the fifth yacht of some already-rich Bioware founder. This seven-digit net worth guy Trent Oster DID NOT DEVELOP OR ADD CONTENT TO THIS GAME, DESPITE BEING GIVEN ALL THE DEVELOPMENT DOCUMENTS AND SOURCE CODE FOR IT. The original developers are gone and these new Beamdog/ ex-Bioware guys picked this game up only to raise its price by 200% to 20 bucks. They even removed the original-priced version to boost the sales of this de facto price hike scam. Do not support these disgraceful profiteers. The original game is pretty good. With two decades of age, its execution sucks. You should not pay 20 bucks for a game that is WAAAAAAY behind the current game trends and design quality. For example, the game is more about picking best conversation options than it is about fighting, despite being a pure-blooded D&D game. Frankly, the fighting sucks and your main character dies too easily. There are no gear to mitigate that problem and most of the game you will be swinging a puny bone dagger. You won't pick the correct dialogue options nor will you have the required attribute stats to make them appear in the first place if you don't use walkthrough. Thus it is evident that the game design is clearly from 1999 and has no business telling today's players how "enhanced" it is. Even the Beamdog CEO Trent Oster told that they did d**k all to the original game. For comparison, when the owners of GOG known as CD Projekt published The Witcher Enhanced Edition, it had tons of graphical and gameplay upgrades. Beamdog's Torment is very close to a straight reupload of the original game it claims to include. Sure it does -- that is 99% of what the original one was -- the exact same game with the same content. It is ridiculous that CD Projekt lets publications such as this water down the Enhanced Editions of its own game. It's clear Beamdog is not out to develop anything anymore , despite claiming to be a developer and/or a publisher of its games. Rather it is clearly looking for chances to make a quick buck to build its owners' pension funds. Beamdog is not a genuine developer and has never made a single original game.
