Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Official Soundtrack
Description
Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition includes the unaltered original version and the Enhanced Edition in one definitive collection exclusively on GOG.com. (The original version will be automatically added to your account after purchase.) The original Planescape: Torment was released in 1999 to widespread critical acclaim. It won RPG of the Year from multiple outlets for its unconventional story, characters, and amazing soundtrack. Since then, millions of Planescape: Torment fans have enjoyed exploring the strange and dangerous city of Sigil and surrounding planes through the Nameless One's eyes.

Discover an incredibly rich story and a setting unlike anything else in fantasy. Defeat strange and alien creatures, engage in rich dialogue, and explore the dark and dangerous Planescape setting in this 50+ hour RPG classic.

This is Planescape: Torment like you’ve never seen before."What can change the nature of a man?" - You are the Nameless One, a hulking figure covered in scars and tattoos collected over the course of countless lives—none of which you can remember, but are now coming back to haunt you. You are prodded awake by Morte, a floating skull and keeper of secrets, to embark on an adventure taking The Nameless One from the dirty streets of Sigil into the mysterious Outer Planes and even into the depths of Hell itself.

Portals riddle the planar metropolis of Sigil, providing access to anywhere in existence, but only if you have the proper key. Known as the "City of Doors," Sigil is a neutral ground where demons, devas, and races from across the multiverse gather under the watchful shadow of the Lady of Pain, the city's enigmatic ruler. This is a place where the word is mightier than the sword, where thought defines reality, and belief has the power to reshape worlds.

In your search for answers, you'll find companions matching the bizarre nature of the planes: a chaste succubus who can kill with a kiss, a confused crossbow-wielding cube, a suit of armor animated by a spirit demanding JUSTICE, and more. With these companions and others at The Nameless One’s side, you will explore worlds in search of answers, all to discover that some destinies cannot be escaped and some memories cost more than an even an immortal can bear.

Great game with some flaws

20 years after the first play through the game still shines. And it still feels like a breath of fresh air to have a story that does not revolve around some world-saving mission, evil lord battling or such. Here your mission is only to discover yourself and finally have a closure. That is all. So it plays like a wonderful interactive book with lots of things to do and stories to discover. What I would wish for is to have much deeper interactions with companions, but unfortunately at that time western game developers only started to look out to JRPGs for inspiration on character-oriented stories. Also almost all end-game areas are underdeveloped, so compared to Sigil they feel sketchy and very bland. Yet the finale is so moving and beautiful that anything can be forgiven. The fact is this - even with obvious flaws Planescape Torment is still one of the best RPGs around.

Great remaster

Beamdog took a lot of unfair flak for having the temerity to *charge* for a remaster that is well worth it. If you *don't* want to spend hours sorting out decades-old mods to possibly get the game to a playable state on modern machines, it's well worth the money to simply download and play.

Best book you'll ever play

Above line is a bit misleading as P:T is a good game, but it's a very well crafted story first and foremost. What is there to say about this game that hasn't been said already? Not much. Combat is annoying, there is a lot of backtracking, last few hours of it is just combat, game is poorly balanced and if you want to just grind levels and deal bigger damage numbers it will be a major disappointment. But if you want a great story about an immortal man who wakes up with no memories of his past in a crazy city full of portals and original characters, this is the game. Music is incredible, art is exceptional, plot keeps you interested, dialogues branch depending on your actions and stats. If only the last parts of it were not so combat focused, even then you have options. Get it, play through it. Overcome sadness after completing the journey only to find out there's nothing quite like it. Replay every couple of years to relive the experience. --- Current EE build for linux wont run until you manually place libssl 1.0.0 libraries in /game/lib/ folder. Probably a leftover from steam port, sadly this isnt fixed still.
