Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition

Just completed the game for the first time and my god, this game is just incredible! All what people said about the writing was truth, this game has the best writing you could found in a CRPG, great descriptions, well writen characters and a story that hook you up from minute one and never let you go. You will want to know more, dive in as the Nameless One to find your name and the secret of your immortality. If you are like me and haven't played this game yet, do it, you will find a masterpiece. The games has some minor problems like the combat is really bad at the beggining and some crashes near the end of the game, but nothing mayor and never lost more than a couple of minutes, nothing you cannot forgive to this masterpiece.

Great game. The combat certainly isn't as well designed as Bladur's Gate or Icewind Dales games but it is enjoyable (swinging your own arm as a club = 11/10 would do again). Where this game game shines is its story, game designers should take notes from this game: Philosophical themes: ✓ Unorthodox,fresh plot (no "Big damn hero saves the world" plot): ✓ Interesting story that keeps the player interested : ✓ Unique companions and antagonists with interesting personalities: ✓ Great replayability through different plot choices: ✓ Unique setting: ✓ All in all, if you are a fan of story-focused RPGs you shouldn't pass this title.

Planescape: Torment is an enthralling game boasting an impressive wealth of well-written dialogues and immersive storylines. Its intriguing settings and captivating narrative make it a truly unique gaming experience. Unfortunately, the game's combat system is a notable drawback, as it constitutes a significant portion of the gameplay. The lack of depth in the combat mechanics and the underwhelming character building are disappointing, especially when compared to other D&D-based games such as Baldur's Gate 1 and Neverwinter Nights 1. Planescape: Torment's combat system simply falls short of the high standards set by its contemporaries. Despite this drawback, the game remains enjoyable, thanks to its engrossing story and elaborate world-building. If you can overlook its shortcomings in combat, Planescape: Torment is a game well worth your time and attention.

*though that comes with a few drawbacks; first off, forget about the combat, which has little-to-no actual depth to it. Quite a few potential combat scenarios can be avoided through talking it out though, so make sure (and this is ESSENTIAL) to put most of your skill points into Wisdom. Be ready for text dump upon text dump, and concepts far beyond conventional thought. This is Planescape: Torment.
