Why does nobody discuss "naval" combat
So for the first 5-10 hours I was having a decent time in the game. Then I really started to see the flaws, and when "naval" combat started is where I just couldn't do it anymore. Land combat is frequent and can be a bit frustrating at times, but overall is fun. Early game is a bit rough due to the lack of available chars, this can be fixed by buying mercenaries, no big deal. The biggest issue I ran into was the lack of explanation of skills and talents and the way the UI is set up is atrocious. My second issue was massive bugs and extremely poor optimization. I get random stutters and screen tearing while walking or fighting, there doesn't seem to be a trigger it just appears to be totally random. Now on to the bugs I ran into, the first was getting stuck in the map. Upon walking my team through the quarry one of my members stepped out of bounds somehow and got stuck inbetween 2 types of terrain, nothing I could do would get him to move and I had to reload a prior save. That brings me to the save bug, after reloading my save I went to speak with a person to obtain a quest, only to find out the quest was no longer there no matter what I did, after checking my inventory the quest item was in my inventory even though I was using a prior save, gone were the XP, monetary and item rewards, and I had no way to get them. Even by going saves days back and retracing my steps I had the exact same issue. If all thats not bad enough the "naval" combat is the straw that broke the camels back. This is all text based, no actual combat and its poorly explained, even after disabling an enemy ships sails I am still unable to position myself in front or behind to get uncounterable bombardment. Then I read online that you just jigg then stop then fire, rinse repeat. That nonsense worked everytime. TL:DR Land combat - Decent Bugs - Frequent / Including save bugs. Optimization - Poor Naval combat - Worst i've ever seen.
