I have played tons of games, from the era of atari and all baldurs gate, icewind dale, divinity and many many many more. This game has potential, nice story but I hate seeing bad UIs with control that didn t work as supposed to. I tried to simple attack to a near enemy with equipped weapon and throwed grenade. I tried to range attack and casted a spell. None of this were chosen to do it just did probably the last action ??? Also the Ui is like they put random things in various places which made it hard to see and find.
Seems like I should have read the reviews properly before buying withouth getting swayed by the hype. It was probably said before:
The gameplay feels okish but the characters are just bad - toxic political propaganda all over the place, boring characters that are almost imposible to like & even the graphics feels washed out.
Was hoping for Balurs Gate revival, but didnt get it.
Will probably have to fire up one of the infinity engine games once again.
Coming from playing BG1 - 3x; BG2 - 10x; Icewind Dale1 - 1x; Icewind Dale 2 5x; Planescape Torment 1x; Fallout 1 - 10x; Fallout 2 - 6x and getting a foul taste in my mouth from this - hope this helps people who are looking for similar experience
The first act was fun, but then you get sent into this "commander" scenario where you have to recruit armies and fight your way to a town. The recruiting takes forever and you have to keep spending and spending to raise enough troops to beat the demons.
None of that is anything like the role playing and party building from act 1. The whole party you've put together has nothing to do with any of the commander/army building. It's not what I bought the game for and frankly, it's boring as hell. What a disappointment.
This game is so well made, with interesting story, setting, characters, mechanics, everything is absolutely top notch stuff and I enjoyed (almost) every hour I spent in this game. I would love to give this game a 5 Star rating, but I just cant. I know that I am not the best RPG player around, but man..Some of the dungeons and encounters here are straight up unfair and stupidly difficult. That is my biggest issue here.
THANKFULLY HOWEVER, seems that the developers are aware of this (somewhat) and literally all aspects of the difficulty can be changed, so you can make your playthrough even stupidly easy if you wish to.
