Discover the Story
Your path will lead you to the Worldwound, where the opening of a rift to the Abyss has unleashed all-consuming terror across the land. For over a century, the neighboring nations have fought fearlessly, trying to drive the enemy back — but to little avail.
Now, you have the chance to put an end to this conflict, but the path to salvation is far from clear-cut. Will you become a shining angel, backed by noble paladins? Or a powerful necromancer with hordes of immortal undead in your thrall? Or something else entirely? Lead your army and challenge mighty demon lords. Your crusade will set in motion a chain of events that will leave you — and the world itself — forever changed.
PLAY YOUR HERO, YOUR WAY
Create any character imaginable with the flexibility, richness, and depth of the Pathfinder First Edition ruleset. Choose from 25 classes, 12 character races, and more than a thousand spells, feats, and abilities to suit your personal playstyle.
FOR EVERY CHOICE, A CONSEQUENCE
Your decisions have more weight than ever before. Your goal is clear, but you must forge your own path to it. Who will die, and who will live? Who will stay, and who will go? Make your choices, and watch the world around you change.
A NEW WAY TO FIGHT
Enjoy two combat modes as you slay your enemies – real-time with pause or turn-based. Switch between them on the fly, so you can always take things as slowly — or as quickly — as you like. The unique Pathfinder ruleset also allows you to perform advanced combat maneuvers, like mounted combat. Use them wisely!
GATHER YOUR PARTY
A cast of more than 10 unique companions is ready to join your cause. Earn their trust and respect, and they will have your back no matter what dangers lie ahead. And if you get on their bad side, well… Maybe it’s time to part ways.
LEAD THE CRUSADE
You will need much more than a party of adventurers to cleanse the land of its demonic scourge. Take command of the crusaders and lead them to victory – both as a strategist, controlling the battle from above, and as a field commander, in a new tactical combat mode.
CHOOSE YOUR PATH
Explore nine unique Mythic Paths: obtain extraordinary abilities and shape everything that comes next. Your decisions might transform you into a celestial Angel, a raging Demon, a powerful Lich, a cunning Trickster, an otherworldly Aeon, a rebellious Azata, a wise Gold Dragon, an insatiable Swarm That Walks — or remain mortal and walk the arduous path toward becoming a living Legend.

Played the game and couldn't even get past the boss fight Hostilla in the begining of the game. And i have it on normal. I've played so many games, Dragon age origins, Pathfinder kingmaker, pillars of enternity. And yet im so dissapointed in this game as it is so flawed in its combat design. Everything else is great but the fact that they make a very powerful boss at the begining when you have no real powers or abilities is a dumb part on them. I couldn't recommend a game that is so poorly design. Which sucks cause i wanna love it and experience everything else it has to offer. But based on what i've seen others have said about it idk if i want to know
I really enjoyed game in many aspects like: game engine, music, pathfinder lore etc. but what I liked most was story and characters. Even with epic story characters were still humans - with flaws, mistakes and interesting background.
Talking about the actual game PWOR offers extensive options to build a character of your choice. The other characters within the game have their own motives and beliefs that actually feel genuine and understandable, not just going through the usual generic motions. Yes, the game can be very indepth (if you want it to be, though there are options to minimise this. Just as there are extensive options to customise difficulty - basically you can set the game up to play however you wish. ) It's an improvement over their first game not that that was bad, it's just they've learnt what worked and moved forward, just as they have done again with the Excellent Rogue Trader game. The 'Spyware' issue is something that applies to many games using this type of game engine and feedbacks system builds to improve compatabilitywith various PC builds / components. It is also entirely optional, yep 100% turn it off if you don't want to enter into this. Buy it or don't as always the choice is entirely up to you, but it's an excellent CRPG Top Tier infact.
This is a massive game with lots of depth (for the main plot, the companions, and their stories). It is huge (my first playthrough took me more than 300 hours, although I am a bit of a completionist) to the point of being at times a bit overwhelming, but overall, it's been a great experience. My main issue with it is the (infamous) bugs: it worked fine on the first playthrough, but I am on my second now, and the game would simply crash like 3 or 4 times within an hour. I am not sure what the issue is, but I hope they fix it.
The good:
-Great rpg with some really good writing. Most characters are believable and feel grounded.
-Good graphics and spell effects
-Lots of options and variety for your build, dozens of classes with specializations
-True d20/Pathfinder experience
-Returning characters and stories from the last game
-Play as baldur's gate / icewind dale real time or table-top turn based mode
-I can't emphasis this enough, there are a lot of cRPG that are based on table-top games but don't do it justice with completely different rulesets and just ruin the experience for someone used to the tabletop game. Yes, I'm looking at you Harebrained's Shadowrun. You had a great opportunity to bring the tabletop to life and you spit on it by fucking up a good tabletop ruleset. But not on Pathfinder, if you played the tabletop rpg, or dnd 3.5, you will feel right at home. Almost everything is by the book and it works perfectly well, no need for bullshit excuses like tabletop rules not translating to video games.
The subjective:
-Early game ascension. When it should be a level 20+ feature. Reminds me a bit of Icewind dale 2, without having to get to level 30.
-The main plot itself is a bit too much in your face, unlike the first game where you were slowly figuring it out.
The bad:
-Loading screens... Lots of them... For everything... Even on a fast SSD it's annoying.
-Bugs, just like the first game, lots of them. Some game breaking, some just annoying.
-Turn Based mode is half broken, some classes get broken turns, some skills that should go out just fail instead, like when your character has to walk to heal, even with half a turn to walk and half to cast, it sometimes doesn't go out for no reason when it should have.
Only rated 4/5 thanks to the bugs and loading screens. The bugs will be fixed over time hopefully, but the loading screens are there to stay, sadly.
