Discover the Story
Your path will lead you to the Worldwound, where the opening of a rift to the Abyss has unleashed all-consuming terror across the land. For over a century, the neighboring nations have fought fearlessly, trying to drive the enemy back — but to little avail.
Now, you have the chance to put an end to this conflict, but the path to salvation is far from clear-cut. Will you become a shining angel, backed by noble paladins? Or a powerful necromancer with hordes of immortal undead in your thrall? Or something else entirely? Lead your army and challenge mighty demon lords. Your crusade will set in motion a chain of events that will leave you — and the world itself — forever changed.
PLAY YOUR HERO, YOUR WAY
Create any character imaginable with the flexibility, richness, and depth of the Pathfinder First Edition ruleset. Choose from 25 classes, 12 character races, and more than a thousand spells, feats, and abilities to suit your personal playstyle.
FOR EVERY CHOICE, A CONSEQUENCE
Your decisions have more weight than ever before. Your goal is clear, but you must forge your own path to it. Who will die, and who will live? Who will stay, and who will go? Make your choices, and watch the world around you change.
A NEW WAY TO FIGHT
Enjoy two combat modes as you slay your enemies – real-time with pause or turn-based. Switch between them on the fly, so you can always take things as slowly — or as quickly — as you like. The unique Pathfinder ruleset also allows you to perform advanced combat maneuvers, like mounted combat. Use them wisely!
GATHER YOUR PARTY
A cast of more than 10 unique companions is ready to join your cause. Earn their trust and respect, and they will have your back no matter what dangers lie ahead. And if you get on their bad side, well… Maybe it’s time to part ways.
LEAD THE CRUSADE
You will need much more than a party of adventurers to cleanse the land of its demonic scourge. Take command of the crusaders and lead them to victory – both as a strategist, controlling the battle from above, and as a field commander, in a new tactical combat mode.
CHOOSE YOUR PATH
Explore nine unique Mythic Paths: obtain extraordinary abilities and shape everything that comes next. Your decisions might transform you into a celestial Angel, a raging Demon, a powerful Lich, a cunning Trickster, an otherworldly Aeon, a rebellious Azata, a wise Gold Dragon, an insatiable Swarm That Walks — or remain mortal and walk the arduous path toward becoming a living Legend.

Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
At first it was constant screen flickering and freezes and now it won't run at all, even after reinstalling. And yes, my system easily meets the recommended specs.
Game itself looks better and more user friendly than previous one...
BUT HELL LOT OF BUGS!
How testers could miss issue with players not being able to drop items form the invetory or even check the item stats?
The whole right click menu is missging on MacOS + many others bugs making game unplayable... exacly the same situation as with the previous game.
It will get better over time, but its coplete waste of time and nerves for now.
1* for letting this happen again.
I probably would have recommended this game had I made this review before reaching Act 3. I was getting really absorbed into the story and characters and I'm not ashamed to admit I've probably spent at least 10 hours or so in character creation/level up screens trying to plan my character. I love the magus class and the way it blends melee and magic together. There are a decent few story moments in the beginning where you're triumphing through incredible odds and you feel awesome.
I'm saying all these nice things now to soften the blow of my main critique which is that the balancing is absolutely atrocious. From the end of Act 2 onwards a metaphorical switch is flipped and suddenly all the enemies are jacked up on death steroids from hell. The whole becoming a mythic hero theme starts to lose weight when you can be absolutely wrecked by the demonic equivalent of Bob from accounting.
From my understanding Owlcat seems to have given enemies blanket boosts to all stats across the board which would explain things. I started on the default enemy stats setting of moderately weaker, and have since had to drop it down to much weaker. Even then I was still encountering enemies with enough damage per round to kill my characters in one turn, who have such bloated defensive stats (armour class, saving throws, spell resistances, and always pre-buffed with spells) that combat routinely involved me spending several consecutive rounds missing and wasting spells.
If you're a min-maxer to the extreme or if you set the difficulty really low, maybe you'll be able to have a smooth ride all the way through. I might have to lower the difficulty even further even though I don't really want to. I enjoy an engaging challenge but that's not what this game provides, this is trying to deal with that asshole kid who keeps throwing up an everything-proof shield until you get frustrated and want to beat his teeth out with a brick and chain.
The game has so much potential, but I feel like the developers just made a half hearted attempt in order to collect the money. They mostly just took some of the more popular kingmaker mods and integrated them into the game and put no real effort to work on it after that. There are bugs everywhere and act 5 is a disaster. They STILL have not bothered to fix the mouse bug on the mac client from the first game. You can click a button, item, or just on the map and wherever the mouse is about two seconds later is where the click registers.
Never played another owlcat game before, just Divinity and Baldurs Gate. I previously DM'd the tabletop version of this game when it came out so i was excited for the nostalgia trip. Story-wise they seemed to nail the campaign and I had a blast exploring every corner of it.
The graphics are solid, not optimized the best, but solid!
The voice acting, when present, is great. Just wish there was more of it.
The combat is fun and has tons of depth
The characters are insteresting and theres plenty of secrets to find.
I finished the whole game after 120 hours or so. So strap in for a long one.
The downsides:
Plenty of bugs. Sometimes dialogue UI wont show up. Sometimes youll open a door, combat will start, but you cant pass through the door or interact with it again...but can still see and shoot through it. I didnt have any quests bug out, but i did miss out on a big quest because a characters dialogue was erroneously grayed out like i had already chosen it as an option.
Bugs aside theres some QOL things that would go a long way, like a way to manually choose what action youre taking instead of hoping the context gets it right. There are TONS of debuffs and its insane trying to keep track of what spells or abilities will get rid of them. Space bar is the pause button in turn based mode, but in combat its the skip turn button, so pray you dont accidentally press it. Lots of little things that will frustrate you, but arent technically bugs.
Overall it could be a tighter, more polished, experience but it was tons of fun. If you have an RPG itch this one will definitely let your teeth sink in.
