Panzer Dragoon: Remake

Panzer Dragoon has always been at the top of my I need to play this game list, but since I never owned a Saturn, I knew that I won’t be able to experience this classic. And then suddenly it showed up on GOG! The graphics are really nice and the music is just outstanding. Controls feel good and I’ve had no issues hitting my targets. Another plus I think is that the game can be beaten in about an hour, for me with limit time to play this is a major feature, story, gameplay fun all wrapped up in a quick package. So bottom line Panzer Dragoon has made my favorite games list and I go back to it every month or so for a quick dose of dragon shooting fun.

it's a throwback 1:1 remake of the original, so the game length is short. Buy it on sale for sure.

My friend bought Switch version and i played it and liked but decided to wait and buy other games instead. And it was a wise decision as it turned out. PC version runs much smoother and looks better. The game is a perfect example of a perfect remake when in comes to graphics. There are no cons, nothing lost, nothing is out of place. It's the same game as it was on the Saturn just with modern graphics and higher framerate. And the most important - music is the same. Can't wait for Zwei and Orta remake (and... if only... Saga, it's a different game though).

The game is fun to play and has nice graphics. It has great old school FMVs as well. It worked perfectly with my Thrustmaster T.16000M HOTAS. It ran well at 4k and 60fps on my Vega 48 iMac (approximately equivalent to an RX 580 GPU). But it's very short. I finished the the main campaign on easy difficulty in approximately 1hr 20mins and that's after playing through the first level twice and watching the credits. Because of this, it's best to wait for a sale.

I didn't even know this remake existed. Having played the original extensively, I had high expectations and was not disappointed. The graphics are very nice, many details have been added to the world and the gameplay is very close to the original (it is quite a bit easier with mouse and keyboard than with a d-pad). My only critique is that the default volume level when starting the game is set to ear blasting. I finished this remake once on normal mode, so I am not sure but the full boss fight should be available on hard mode and after finishing that, episode 0 should be available in the pandora's box. I'll edit my review once I get to finish the game again. PLEASE remake Panzer Dragoon Zwei, too!
