Doodoo, cringey on rails experience
Unlike the first one, this thing is just a poor excuse for "twists" that you'll see from a mile away and exclusively relies on cheap jump scares and chases. The atmosphere and plot are as generic and lazy as it gets, so the only thing that is left is an annoying game of crossroads with only one successful path. So, have fun testing every road and retrying until you go where the devs wanted you to go. Pure trial and error for 7 hours. Even at the dirt cheap sale price, don't waste your pocket money. Better go and grab some doughnuts and an iced coffee from the corner store, and watch someone else waste their time via an Outlast 2 gameplay video on YouTube.

no way!
So, Yeah, WOW! Just over 60 minutes in and not only YAWN, but nothing even REMOTLY close to the F R I G H T of outlast. I have tried to get thru outlast on, whatever "perma-death", after already killing it, SLOWLY, and cant get thru 15 minutes or so, having played it. But I will, lol. Sorry, creepy and intimidating from jump. Two? Not a little scary, and so obvious and cliché when, and spoiler, the copter goes down. When it starts weak, and you haven't "bitten" you won't be hooked. The only thing creepy? The noises, because they are familiar breathing, camcorder beeping on and off, etc, but when looked at for the "openness", if you are "outside" and cannot get away from someone who DISCOVERS YOU, while you are watching them entire time, it's pretty lame. Not like watching Halloween or Friday the 13th movies without the music. NO clue of anticipation, because no music or sound effects to set you up. Where this, it is the same constant scared breathing, of a MAN, lol, looking for help by KNOCKING on doors, but hiding from people. Headphones, dark, night, love to be scared more than you like those suicide hot wings! Watched the people on IGN, watched some Youboob reviews before purchase, because, well, you know, it was $13.49 and OUTLAST II! But really it was only in name. Could have been called anything, but riding the name I guess. If it wasn't for STEAMS refund policy, I wouldn't even attempt to purchase most games, and only do on sale. Disappointed. Hey you may dig it, people dig clicker games, and the cartoon softporn. XMESS is around the corner it may be on sale again.

A successful sequel
An incredibly intense horror experience that has seemingly no limits to what it will subject you to. Beautiful visuals, excellent audio work and finely tuned gameplay in the same vein as the original game. I finished it and found it to be a satisfying game overall. Don't buy this if you are in any way squeamish or don't want to deal with constant horrific chases in darkness.
