This is why I like GOG - the old games are still fun and give great pleasure to play.

Chris Sawyer's legacy in good hands
Hands down one of the most dedicated open source projects out there. My saves never last long cause I'm always generating a gigantic map, make some essential train supply chains to pay back the starting loan, turn off breakdowns and after the loan is paid off I just connect two towns with trains, let each have a bus and mail route, then I let it fast forward while I have lunch/dinner, and come back to witness two little hamlets turn into bustling cities. It's become so common I managed to type all of this without a second thought, and I'd do it all over again. That's how addicting the core of TTD is, and OTTD manages to add so many QoL elements that save me the headaches I'd expect in the original, plus the community mods expand the length A LOT (and you can get them from inside the game too!)

Timeless Transportation Masterpiece
I’ve been playing OpenTTD since its early days as Transport Tycoon back in 1994. What started as a brilliant game has, over the decades, evolved into a flawless gem, thanks to its dedicated community. OpenTTD retains the charm of its origins while offering a depth and flexibility that’s unparalleled in the genre. The game now runs seamlessly on virtually every platform, in every resolution, and supports countless languages. Its customization options are staggering—whether tweaking gameplay mechanics, experimenting with mods, or creating intricate transportation networks, the possibilities are nearly endless. What truly sets OpenTTD apart is its accessibility. Whether you’re a nostalgic veteran or a curious newcomer, the game welcomes everyone. It’s a love letter to fans of strategy, simulation, and creativity, polished to perfection by years of community-driven development. For anyone seeking a game that combines strategic challenge, infinite replayability, and a touch of nostalgia, OpenTTD is nothing short of a masterpiece.
