Disappointment
Every game set in the time of the prohibition I bought was a disappointment for me and this one is the newest in this hall of disgrace (and the worst). The only "mafia" game I ever enjoyed, with funny details, gunfights and crime, was in fact....Mafia Game....played on the Commodore 64. Computer games have really changed since then. :/

Boring
This game is really boring. I'm not a big fan of strategy/business games but I liked the time period and themes so I gave it a shot. It's a lot of fun at first, building businesses in order to make money, and using that money to do that more. There are some combat scenarios and they are "okay", not particularly interested but not terrible either. The problem with the game is that it's cut into scenarios, which have you repeat the same tasks over and over from scratch to progress the story. Once you find your winning rhythm, it gets dry. For transparency, I played this game on easy- and did so because the combat is Xcom style RNG nonsense. However, you can not differentiate what is easy mode for the business gameplay and the combat, it's just one option. I wish I could play harder business with easy combat... but I can't.

Not as bad as some people are saying
It seems to me that people were mislead by what kind of game Omerta was. And I can see why some people would be upset by that. After playing it for a few hours, I can honestly say that I'm enjoying the game. It's a bizarre cross of Sims, fallout and Mafia II. Now, admittedly, I don't have a lot of time in the game, and my rating of 3/5 stars is based on the somewhat clunky controls and UI. I am certainly going to be playing this more, and I may retract my positive rating, or increase it. Either way, I'm looking forward to playing more of this really unique title.
