No Man's Sky: Breach update is here!

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

The Bud Light of space sims.

That is to say it'll work in a pinch, but eventually you'll be longing for some flavor. Now granted, I haven't played this since covid lockdowns so take it with a grain of salt. But my experience with it was hardly memorable or exciting. Once you get over the novelty, it's fairly repetitive. In twenty or so hours of play I don't remember anything remarkable about it. Perhaps that's changed in the last few years, but I seriously doubt it. Maybe I was just expecting more. I don't really understand games where it feels like chores--resource management, mining, crafting, etc.--and that's what this felt like. I mean, what's the point? I never could figure that out. When it's on a steep sale, it's worth investing a little time if you're curious. It's competently made at least; I never had any issues running it. Just kinda boring is all.

Almost perfect and very niche

I came into this having watched lots of PS4 footage and with doubts it would even work on my Qosmio laptop with only a GTX670M. Having tweaked the graphics settings it is running fine and is immersive and immense. For context I consider Elite Frontier, Noctis IV, Spore and Minecraft in my top 20 games of all time and this meets all of my expectations. If you like fast action games at 1440p / 60FPS or above I'd stay away. I think this is a niche title for a very specific audience. If you have fond recollections of the space part of Spore, like aimlessly wandering through Proteus and enjoy the frustration / adventure of Out There you might like this game. So far the procedural generation has been pretty amazing but this means it probably won't have the story / atmosphere of something like the Solus Project. It could certainly use optimisation to fix occasional hitches and lags - no reason why performance should be as bad as it is but be thankful it features graphics options many console ports omit. It doesn't provide much of the hand-holding that modern gamers expect and some of the UI choices are pretty counter intuitive unless you are playing with a controller. None of these gripes eclipse the fact that it is - for the right person - an amazing title that encourages exploration like few others. I hope the developers stay true to their vision and don't start compromising it to appease the haters.

Fun, great Exploration

Well, this is what I expected: Exploration. Nothing more. No big fightings, no base building whatever, Just exploration. And it does this quite well. It may get boring in future, but as long it is fun to play. Regarding performance problems: I do not have any of them. It runs smooth in a 980ti with an Intel 4790k and 16GB of Ram. May not be the average gaming rig, I know. I'm running everything maxed out at 1920x1080. Even UHD worked good with about 30fps. Other reviewers wrote, that Resoluton is hardlocked at 720p. THIS IS NOT TRUE. If you expect something like Elite Dangerous, with dogfights, lots of trading etc, then don't buy it. If you like exploration games, with a little story (really only a little bit), then this could be for you. There are some bugs, UI could be better, but overall I am very pleased with it. Perfect if you want something with ease, silent, no too much action.

Performance issue possible work around

For those of you having performance issues, try this work around. Go to the No man's sky install directory. Open firectory Binaries and then settings. Edit the file TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML using an text editor like notepad.exe. If you are not using G-sync, find the line containing name="GSync" and change the value to "false". This worked for me.

Good Starting Point, but Feels Lacking

I was one of the many lucky ones to have this port working on my end. Although I do experience some fatal crashes here and there, a file deletion bug before patch (this only happened once as far I'm aware of), and the occasional frame stutter. I'll place my PC Specs below here as a reference, just in case anyone asks for it. It's a respectable mid-cost rig, but the game needs more optimization patches. :///---PC SPECS Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8370 Eight-Core Processor Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 Memory (RAM): G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR30-1600 Memory Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB (RX 400 Series) :///--- Bugs aside, this game is heading into the right direction, but it really lacks depth in terms of what the game already offers and tends to get repetitive sometimes. It's one of those types of titles you wished Sony kept their hands off for the marketing as it does feel like a early access title. If anything for new potential players, I recommend waiting in a few major updates and or dlc packs before considering purchasing this game. I've been thoroughly enjoying my time with 20hrs+ in. Every now and then the game still gives the wow factor for me once I find that perfect planet. Also, 65daysofstatic's soundtrack is simply fantastic to which prompted me to buy their soundtrack alone for the game. In conclusion, I will say this. If your a gamer that doesn't mind crafting/exploration space games and wants to chill, I say give this game a go. If your more of a gamer that wants to dive into action with complex gameplay straight away, this game isn't really it and probably should pass on it, wait for a sale even. No Mans Sky isn't a bad game at any means it's just been unfairly treated as a supposed "Triple A" title without people realizing its really a indie game, that again Sony shouldn't have taken full advantage of. It's game that at this moment, just feels lacking in some areas.
