Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.
In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.
Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).
And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.
Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).
An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.
At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.
Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.
The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Semi-entertaining
I have always said storyline isn't important, but after playing this game, I admit that it makes a big difference when i compare this to (lets say) Halo:CE. Nevertheless, I think they did an amazing job on the technical and visual areas. When I bought the game, i didn't think is was going to be a hardcore survival (frequently recharging power bars, like hunger and thirst bars), but i didn't want to return it because I still liked the concept. After the updates, ive been playing creative mode (since i dont like doing recharging chores) and its pretty fun building until you are happy with your building. Now that im done building my base, im not sure what to do. Maybe i will go back someday. If it only had a better storyline though....

Great game!!
Note: I have the PS4 version of this, but plan on buying the GOG version when it goes on sale. So I can't speak on performance issues with the GOG version. No Man's Sky is one of my favorite games, even before the updates. I'm not sure why I love this game so much. It can be a little monotonous at times, but yet I still can't pull myself away from it. There is no multiplayer and is a little light on content, yet I keep finding things that keep me interested. It is more of an experience than it is a game to me I guess. It is relaxing to play after a long hard days work. Crack open a beer and just explore the universe from the comfort of your gaming chair or couch. This game is special to me, but if you asked me why I couldn't give you specifics. I just know that I have been waiting for a game like this since I was a kid. I have played some games that come close, but NMS really nailed it for me.

Enjoyable if you're like me
I see why many people dislike the game, the lies of the devs, the repetitiveness. Though if you just want a chill experience exploring planets and seeing beautiful randomly generated landscapes you really gotta consider picking this up in a sale :).

First impression pros and cons
The new update finally convinced me to buy the game. After one year since release, the content seemed somewhat close to what they promised us at release. In general, I'm quite satisfied with the game, but it has some flaws. That's the reason for 4/5 stars. I didn't spend enough time with the game to write a proper "review" yet (~3h), but my impressions so far: Pros: - Well generated worlds, creatures and plants. - The quest/tutorial was pretty well done and taught me how to play the game quickly. - Interesting "catalogue" feature to collect all the planet's flora, fauna and waypoints. - Flying the spaceship/driving the cars handles well. - Well crafted trading and base building system. Cons: - The game seems very needy for resources and it feels like it would need some more optimisation (especially the LOD-popping/fading is quite annoying sometimes). - There's little bugs here and there which hopefully will be fixed soon. - As far as I can tell, the things you can do in space besides flying and mining are very limited. Spending time between planets needs to be more exciting. - The starting inventory is still VERY limited. Running around and gathering a lot of things seems impossible at this stage of the game. Having a full inventory so quickly really slows me down and stops me from just exploring more of the planet while gathering resources. All in all, the devs seem to try really hard to make this game a great experience. I feel like for everyone who doubted them (rightfully so) there might be a point sometime in the future where a patch like this one (1.3) will be released which convinces them to buy it. As always, we need to remind ourselves: games are about having fun and experiencing great feelings. This game makes me have both and that's why I like it.
