No Man's Sky: Breach update is here!

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Update 4 - The games is enjoyable now !

For years, it was a game I wanted to love and enjoy ... but never did. They added a lot of content since the release but sadly, the interface and gameplay were still not to my taste. But now with got UPDATE 4 (WAYPOINT) . A Major quality of life improvement. Interface is WAY better now and the custom difficulty/gameplay setting is really useful. For example, you can now easly adjust the grinding of the game to your taste and really play the game like you want. In my case it's following the story and exploring the universe without having to mine billions of ressources. Thanks to this update, I spent more time on the game in the last three days than in the last two years. And I enjoyed it a lot! It's the right moment to start your adventure.

Not the best, but far from bad

I've watched this game change from the absolute nightmare of a dumpster fire it was at launch into what it is today, and I can see a kind of value in it that is mostly nonexistent in big titles. I won't elaborate on the 2016 debacle or the years that followed, everyone's heard the story at this point. What I will say is that the amount of dedication that has gone (and as of writing, is still going) into its development goes far beyond what I've come to expect of modern games, and I appreciate it despite my gripes with the product itself. The game's content isn't really gold medal material in my opinion, but it's nothing to sneeze at either. If you're the type who enjoys finding yourself something to do with the environment you're provided, instead of endlessly checking off a list of activities imposed by others with no room for creativity, then you'll be spending plenty of hours in this game. As for how long it'll be before you get bored and put it off, I can't tell you. The experience can vary massively. One thing I certainly recommend is playing the old versions as well, if you have the means. I've met several new players who didn't know anything about the gameplay's evolution, and I could almost see the surprise on their faces when I told them just how much of the game's current content simply didn't exist years ago. I guarantee you'll see it differently once you've felt what it was like to not have all of those improvements. So why only 3 stars? The developers, despite their dedication, have a history of neglecting aging content, and the older the feature the worse it gets. Many ridiculously glaring bugs introduced as far back as 2018 sat unfixed for years despite being reported repeatedly, gradually compounding and becoming more and more absurd. Many were fixed... in 2023, and some are still broken! Little things you won't even notice unless you pay close attention, but after you've spotted them once, you always will. In short, do try it. It's pretty good.

Works fine for me

Tested on dell optiplex 7040 micro, dell optiplex 7020, 7050, with only 30-48fps (I tweaked my settings for the intel hd 530 , intel hd 5000, intel hd 7000 series gpus), works fine on my gaming desktop and laptops that have gtx 1050, 1060, 1080ti. Game is only repetitive if you cant find objectives to do. If you like games like empyrion galactic survival or in general, space games with resource, inventory and building mechanics then this is your type of game.

My Game of the Decade --> 1100 hours

I played this on Steam, but this is my game of the decade. So far I put around 1100 hours into the game over several, and hope to go back to see the newest additions - they keep adding stuff. This game will appeal to those who favor self-directed exploration. It's really _not_ for goal driven players who want the game to present fast paced missions or challenges. There are some goals, but it's not that kind of game by design and you can mostly pursue them or not. At it's core the game is a chill exploration experience, and many days in the game might be "let's see what's over here." Everything about the game is at the player's discretion. Do you want to be a space hobo? That's OK. Want to spend 100 hours on the first planet? That's OK too. Want to build a fleet? That's OK too. Want to just explore and see planet and animal variation? That's OK. Build bases or networks of bases and manufacture/craft some agriculture or mfg goods or farming? That's OK. Explore underwater depths? Look for a cool ship? Find a planet with rare resource? Find the most beautiful planet? Find and earthlike planet to live on? There are lots of ways to to spend your playtime. For the longest time the biggest thrill for me was entering the atmosphere of a new planet and going down to land to see what new ecosystem and animals I might find. Eventually you become accustomed to the limits and tendencies of the procedural generation systems, but even then you'll occasionally be surprised by what the game presents. This is the type of unrushed, chill, exploration driven game I've wanted to play since I was a kid. (The hardest part of the game is likely at the start, so don't get discouraged if your starting situation is challenging. I've died when beginning a new game despite playing 100s of hours at the time, so it can happen if the environment is bad, but it's really not a setback - the game will restart you there. Pay attention - it's part of the story)

Amazing comeback

I meme'd the hell out of this game like most of the internet when it came out. Mostly to be an anti-hype person. I am glad that I was wrong about what this game would become though. The engoodening of no man's sky is real and Hello Games has done an amazing job making this game into a more perfect version of the game they set out to create initially. The game itself is great. Free seasonal content is consistent. Multiplayer is great fun, making bases rocks. Exploration is actually fun in this game, and I find myself walking around a lot on random planets just to see what I can. It can get samey after a while sinceits almost all randomly generated, but you will always find interesting stuff. Also note that every major patch adding tons of new systems and content to engage with, has been totally free. That is amazing. If you have a limited budget, or want to focus on a few games rather than a ton, you will find this game to be a great option. There is a ton to do and a lot to explore. With multiplayer and seasonal content, you will have reasons to return in the future too. My only complaint is that the GoG multiplayer integration made it hard to get into multiplayer properly at first. I am not sure that deserves a star taken off though because the rest of the game is great and was not a problem in later playthroughs.
