Nightmare Reaper

From the description of the game, it meshes together several types of game that I'm not a huge fan of; roguelite, platformer, arcade shooter, narrative horror... but blender together? Oh my word. It's a cliché to say the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, but in this case, it's absolutely spot-on. Every game element is polished to an absolute gleaming shine. If, like me, you're put off by a few of the keywords in the game's description, I implore you to give it a try. It's an utter masterclass in design and is genuinely entertaining and an easy 5-star recommendation with no reservation at all. The only other game I've played recently that's been this good is Hedon: Bloodrite. It's a lso worth noting that I wouldn't have tried this game at all if it wasn't for Ruby Ranger's spoiler-free review video on YouTube. I can't imagine better combination of genres :)

I fell a bit in love with that game. I like the art style and the game mechanics are great. I've played some other rogue-lite FPS games but this one definetly stands out. Plus, it's still in-dev so some of the cons might be ironed out in the final version! To make it short, here's a pros/cons list: Pros: - Great controls and movement (playing with mouse+keyboard) - You keep all the money you collect in a run, even if you die mid-level - No time pressure. You can be fast or slow, YOU decide how you play - Great music by Andrew Hulshult - A lot of cool weapons - A funny and pretty unique skill tree - The levels usually don't take very long, you can play some NR in your lunchbreak Cons: - Sometimes I lost overview because there can be a lot of stuff on your screen - Some of the puzzle rooms can be a bit too tricky - The soundtrack only has one song (which is a great one as mentioned above) - I've had a few minor frame drops but never gamebreaking (GTX 1080, i7 7700K) This game definetly gets a recommendation from me!

what can I say: You should play this. It is a wild and fun time.

The game-feel of this one is very good, and the progression is addicting.
