There is a learning curve
I know D&D 3.5, I don't know this UI and there doesn't seem to be a tutorial to teach me. :(

Failed potential.
I love Neverwinter Nights 1. When NWN2 came out I wanted to like it, I did my best to ignore all the red flags but when I finally got to play it, it let me down more than any other sequel I ever played. It was such a buggy mess that whenever I played a buggy game after it, it has kept me positive because at least they weren't as bad as NWN2 on release. The character models look terrible, armour customisation is gone, the UI and camera are awful, anything you do in the editor takes 10x as much time as it does in NWN1, you have to download things to play online even if no mods are used for a custom module, the various talk channels are a mess compared to NWN1 in their range and it does not have mounted combat, which NWN1 does have. They pretty much removed everything good about NWN1, only positive I can say about NWN2 is that they added hats. In NWN1 all headgear covers the entire head. The campaign is very linear and conflicts with any character who is not a young adult human because it makes up your whole background for you. The writers might never have played D&D considering how on rails the campaign and your character's personality is. It's barely voiced over too, which was normal for the time of NWN1's release but by NWN2's release, that had become outdated. This game was released at least a year too early in it's development, it required a lot more polish or simply, a better developer. Obsidian has made good games but failed to deliver a finished sequel to better developers three times: NWN2, KOTOR2 and Dungeon Siege 3.

NwN2 and mask of the betrayer
I'd love to give it 5 stars, It's definitely a game worth playing, but there are glitches here and there, nothing major, characters are hilarious, wish the fort you get had more customization, but the overall game play and story was fun, however the ending is not good, and continues into the expansion... (NWN gets 5 stars However.....) I also played mask of the betrayer expansion which I didn't really like.. thing is, the entire game Up until the end tells you to do something, sets you up with a romance, gives you friends all who want to do the said quest... almost like the writer is trying to control your decision or your belief, (at the end you get a choice...) whether its in movies or games, people should leave their ideas out of it and quit trying to force them on people, and the ending well... it doesn't make you feel like you accomplished anything... what I mean is since mask of the betrayer is a part of the story line of your main character in NwN2 the ending of MotB is the ending of NwN2.. the main game doesn't give you much of an ending.... If you are a Christian and you like games, Neverwinter Nights 2 is good, but mask of the betrayer expansion, don't waste your time. The story in short for MotB is "Agnostics don't deserve to be punished for hating God" if you aren't a Christian you won't see it that way, just saying.
